I remember the time not long ago
When we laughed and shared it all
We were the very best of friends
Or at least that's what I thought.
I often wonder why friendships end
What happens to sever that tie
How can someone once so close
Just wave you off with a goodbye
I must have been lacking
I must have been wrong
I wasn't the friend to you
That you were to me all along.
I thought I was loyal
I know I was true
But something went wrong
Now there's nothing to do
A friendship lost
Is a very sad thing
The angels weep instead of sing.
Her love for God is like a fire that spreads easily and never dies.
It encourages me in my faith. It encourages me to fan my flame.
Her loyalty ignites my fire and her compassion to help those in need.
Humble in every way.
Her positiveness fuels the embers of my dying flame.
I can lend my candle to her knowing she won't blow it out to make hers shine brighter. I trust her to keep it warm.
True friendship consists of these characteristics.
Loyalty. Trust. Kindness. Independence. Honesty.
It's a ship that gets us through the ocean of life when that wave of doubt or unfortunate events falls upon us and we see no way out.

When we're single and need someone to spend those dateless nights with.

When we find ourselves in situations that only a simple call can fix.

When we're bored and want to just laugh at things no one else understands.

When we're old and sad, but hey, even then life is not too bad when you have friendship to get you past-on to the harbor where joy will forever last.
Wrote this after a Valentine's Day spent single, but with good friends by my side.
With regards to Thomas Sayers Ellis*

Look at the
    Lucent lava lamps,
Dark craters
    Hiring hands.
We walked,
    Mimicking magma.
Hot, why is
    This heat?
Forget Vulcan
    And his illusion
Of kaleidoscopes,
    A rip tide
On the shore
    Of our conscious minds.
We held fire,
    Pretending to swim
Underground,
    But only out
Of pure respect.
    Some had boots
Made with
    The clippings
Of funky tripwire,
    Others wore suits
With goggles
    Clamped to their faces,
Gripping like
    Bay Area earthquakes.
One-by-one,
    Jang-strangs were
Attached to us and
    Hurled into the Pit
With rhythmic rituals,
    Waves of S and P
Flailed away
    Like flags.
One nation
    Under a new.
No one looked away
    From the fiery daze.
No one wept.
I do not understand how we can be unaware.
I read it in this Biology text book,
on page one, it is right there

We're all just molecules and atoms,
How dare anyone think they matter,
More than the next collection of matter.
Just because they managed to gather,
all that wealth.
Poetry is Reflection of Self.
Apparently,
I'm filled with
misery.
