Remember
When we were kids
And a planetarium
Was a most wonderful place
Everyone simply obsessed
With outer space.
It was strange
And new
And beautiful
It was full of wonder
As was everything
A galaxy of stars
And empty space
We were flying through it all
To a new planet
For us to discover
Floating towards the future
It was like a dream
But as we grow up
We realize
Falling stars are chunks of ice and rock
Not wishes
And stars and the sun
Are ***** of flaming gas
The wonder fades
And you realize
Outer space
Would truly be a lonely place
Alone out there
But I guess it would still better
Than here
And you yearn
For that wonder to come back
But even if it would
Someone would take it away
They always do.
Growing up is sudden
And shocking
And changes you
Forever
And you wish you could go back
To planetariums
And outer space
But you can't.
We are all stars
***** of fire
That will eventually die out.
But some of us are falling
And hoping someone will catch us.
Set the sails, cast-off girl.
Drift to the shores of the South.
Find a home for awhile, til
Restlessness settles in again
And sends a postcard of
Distant skies and bottled gin.

“be who you want to be” my mom always swore
no restraints besides the ones given
by my peers
and untrained mind

some claim to be the seer
some don’t, and thank God
i claim to be none of the above

always wanting to know what it was like to succeed and be flawed
reared and dropped off

as broken
to be mended / made whole
“this is always a chore”

the king i dreamt of
lived in a place untouchable by flesh
but accepted my spirit

my untrained mind will never be fully trained
giving me limitations beyond my control
so i’ll just be who i want to be

and be yours all the same

the cold weather and my friends were never in the same place
i coexisted between the two and forgot what each of them felt like
for i was among both
but understood neither

the nights of caving in on hot chocolate stained sheets
and lights flickering out my window
gave the chance to see me as i am
and as i could be tomorrow

tired
searching

the lights flickered again tonight
as i changed the sheets to the bed

and for once
i wish it were’t my choice between them
The hardest goodbyes are looking into your eyes
and telling you that I have to go

When I'm this far away its so hard to say
what I truly need you to know

I love you so much and it hurts me to leave
because I'm the happiest when I am with you

But because I'm so far, on my heart, there's a scar
That was caused from abandoning you

This isn't farewell but If you can't tell
It hurts me to leave you alone

When I'm lost and away and I want you to stay
I can only reach you by phone

I hate to see you suffer, I hate to see you sad
I want you to feel everything but bad

I am your love, and I swear you are mine
So lets try to take it one step at a time.

I know that this hurts. every week, every day
But with feelings strong like ours, we will find our way

You've helped me find things, new passions, new love
and have lifted me closer, to the stars up above

So when you feel weak, or feel you can't fight
Please go outside and look up in the night

At the stars in which you've brought me closer to
Because I will be also looking at them with you.

The sapphire doors
opened
and I saw love

- a vulnerable babe
with the Universe
shining in its eyes.

let me touch our souls together once more:
comforting insecure heart breaker pocket lover,
be mine - i show up to class but i'm
still in your bed there's
no time for sleep
only dreams of
pink hands and red tea
unconditional
keychain
of
me.
i loathe rhyming poetry so much but still wrote this so??

give me lemon to ****
yellow zest

wake me up
cool me down with - blue sky

the Sea calm
mirror mind

green pasture
crisp apple

honey dripping
drowned sugared.

Winter creeps in through the open window
swinging wide the door of a new season
warm bloodied by a crackling fire
creatures move in , field mice for shelter,
a nest behind the boiler, where cats cannot reach.

warm colors all around that capture your eye.
soft sweaters and cozy hats everywhere you turn.
this season of change reminds us that we all die.
so we must take this life and try our hardest to learn.
