By the glistening dark skies,
And the celestial winds,
Did you think it was I who was lost,
When I gave my all for love?
And I see a place of prism lights,
After storms turn souls into gold,
And I call you in the night
In rendered states of whispered prayers,
“Come”
Eternity waits.

They didn't do anything wrong,
I take all the blame,
It's me who endured the same burns,
caused by different flames!

I GUESS I'M THE ONE WHO'S STUPID;
FOR I HAD MISTAKEN VULCAN FOR CUPID.
They told us that we should never let the same flame burn us twice, but what about the same burns given by different flames?

The first thing I reach for in the morning

is you.

Yet you’ve changed,
you’re a box
full of bad habits.

The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn’t just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I’m as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
First of all, there’s the name that the family use daily,
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James,
Such as Victor or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey—
All of them sensible everyday names.
There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:
Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter—
But all of them sensible everyday names.
But I tell you, a cat needs a name that’s particular,
A name that’s peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?
Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum-
Names that never belong to more than one cat.
But above and beyond there’s still one name left over,
And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover—
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.
When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
His ineffable effable
Effanineffable
Deep and inscrutable singular Name.

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may **** me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

she dances
with the winter dew
in her hair
silver moonbeams
gently kissing her skin
carried by the wind,
she speaks
and the stars
sing along in unison
following her
into the unknown.

now there's an ocean
lying between us
the nights grow dark,
the waters cold.
these velvet tears
and this rabbit heart
can't help but wonder
if i meant anything to you,
or nothing at all.

There is always one star that shines more bright than the others, the first one you catch a glimpse of in the night sky. The one you cannot help but to stare at because it's beauty is more radiant than any other star in the sky. To you this one star shines more than the rest. You are drawn to this star because of its beauty. This star is does not shine as bright in other people's eyes but in yours, the star is perfect. In your world there would only be this one star, it would be the only star you would need. If you could stare at this one star the rest of your life you would be happy, because when you look at it, you know this star does in fact shine the brightest. You know this star is the best, you know this star is the one. To me, this star is her.
