Have you ever experienced the revelation
That: you will never, really, Know anything?

At that moment I diminished into the sunset,
With it's deepening colours,
Into a soothing blackness,
A darkness from which anything could come,
Chaos/Stars.
Every instance became a gift,
So that I could indulge in this anarchic relief,
Relenting,
Euphoric,
To my Lack of Control.

My Psyche enjoys this Bellyrub,
Intimate comfort,
Love of Everything & Nothing,
By my own design,
Bathing, surrounded by the candles of my Contradictions,
Burning from both ends.
A country-boy born in the city;
The introverted extrovert;
A dependant independent.

A pattern emerges from this chaos,
In the shape of me,
Tied down but free,
Wondering: What's the next thing I'll 'see'.
This poem was written through an exercise I like to do with friends. I basically ask a friend to give me three words that I then take and turn into a poem. It's an interesting exercise as everyone gives different words for different reasons. I like this exercise as it pushes you on trains of thought that you might not otherwise travel down.
The words given in this instance were: Bellyrub, Country-boy and Chaos.
My friend, in this case was speaking directly to me so this is why it takes on such a personal tone.

Enjoy..

i saw you
at sunset
while the sky
went dim
it made
me smile
happiness
to the brim
something about you
that makes me feel right
i'll be thinking about you
for the rest of night
i love the rare
sunset talks we have
while the sun goes down
and we smile and laugh
the sky is pink
orange and blue
i love it when
im next to you

you left
and my heat feared
that I may never love again
but my eyes have seen
too many sunsets
and know that no matter
how brilliantly something ends
there will always be another sunrise
to take your breath away

i wanna spend the rest
of my sunsets with you

As the sun sets
I find that
There emerges
Two different moons
In the blueish
Pink sky

The towering oak dipped his crooked fingers into the sky,
His rich green leaves stirring the soft, rose-blushed clouds
Which draped themselves demurely across its glowing expanse.
The luminous half-moon pokes his intrusive eye through
that resplendent array of gold, purple, pink, and yellow,
forewarning the passing of this at once homely and sacred pleasure.
For a time, he must reign, bathing the sky in his stately silver glow.
Though the earth below is singing, the sky is all a’ hush now
and he pulls the veil of slumber o’er the land of that towering oak,
promising to remove his gentle veil one more come dawn.

You
have you ever paid attention to the sky?
'cause i always do
from car rides to long walks
from sunrise til sunset

have you ever paid attention to how youve made me feel?
in a thousand different ways
you always do
from sunrise til sunset

clouds fall and tumble into the sunset hues
they're flowers of the heavens picked by Sky just for Sun
and held by Mountains faded blue
strong with abstract limbs, in a fashion
I fix my posture and change position
to better burn my eyes with their passion
