Ive walked alone all through

The silence promising torture

Yet nobody bothered to shadow

And when i did get a shadow

That made the rays less scorching

It became a thing

To condemn my soul

To condemn my company

It Didn't matter

That my smiles were bigger

On some days brighter

Its their own thoughts,
Their own designs

That was most important

Yet its ironic

How clueless

How self absorbed they are

That its my soul

Never theirs

And I've never tried to disarm theirs
"I like you!"
I wished to shout,
Something rare, right about.
A spark that burned through.

But I never knew you,
Well, it was for an instant—
We came upon,
I saw you, only you.
(And you never saw me.)

You never saw me,
I was translucent.
A shadow,
A breath between moments.
A whisper lost in crowded hums.

What we could be—
You never thought to oversee
Yet, only I hesitated.
Only I remained reluctant.
Only I remained reluctant.
A love at first sight.
A love that lasted a moment
A moment of bliss

I love pleasure
I can deal with pain
Freezing freaking snow
Sunshine after rain

I’m not afraid to live
I’m not scared of death
I shall consume existence
Til’ there’s absolutely nothing left!

I’m not afraid of my shadow
As discussing as I’ve been
I can still embrace
My foolishness within!

Now! is the time
for those loved least
A howl!
assembles the spooks, kooks, and beasts

An autumnal lense looks
at cracks between light
Be brave! Embrace inspired fright
Reach into the shadow
and we just might make friends
with the spectre called Life

We are alive! Let's celebrate this
divergent experience we co-create
Pretend this came out around October.
I see you in the places we once knew,
a glimpse of your shadow in passing view.
Your name lingers on my silent tongue,
a song unsung, forever young.

We walk the same streets, breathe the same air,
yet fate pretends we’re unaware.
A step too late, a turn too wide,
always reaching—never collide.

I hear your laughter in echoes dim,
like a melody lost within the wind.
Fingers stretch, but time won’t bend,
a story stuck with no real end.

We could meet, yet we stay apart,
two lost souls with tangled hearts.
So close—yet worlds away,
a touch we’ll never let replay.

anxiety attack
sweat down my back

sleepless nights
and walking nightmares

I am being followed everywhere,
my own shadows are ahead of me

they lead the way,
and have me doubt
each step, each word, each thought
they crawl from underneath my skin
they mock, they push, they scream

“not good enough “
-again, they bluff
every time I am getting closer to being the person I wish to be, time and time again they reappear, and try to drag me back, into my endless self doubt pits.

It happens with all the holes and wounds: they grow their own face, mend their gap, heal their rifts - those new skills of yours are but entities that emerge: to give shelter, to stand guard, replace the old, thicken the crust, weather this human storm - through and through.

But will the skin ever return to its soil? It linger on forevermore.
How tight is its grip? How hardened its sappy brooks? When will it nourish those delicate roots anew?

These thoughts arise as doubt breaks free. It pours and flows as I gaze down and lower still. Shadows seep and leak as the wheel spins and drills the soul evermore hollow. Anonymous is our tree of life, but it keeps faces in store.

For it happens with all the holes and wounds: they bleed, they mend, they heal - and what don't they do as I stand here, as I bend, as I kneel - as I carve their seats in shapes of departure. These skills thicken under my feet like growling tremors.

My past was but a dream - ready to slide and crumble like a leaf.
My weariness is universal. My knowledge, heavy. There cannot be a conclusion. I am growing thin.

Let me feed those roots anew.

The poet’s shadow
is exposed
page after page
a ranting rave
of confronted truths
trending lies
our poetic shadow is our guide..

The opus of our secret love
desires dance beyond our dreams
where the shadow shines it’s lust
hear the victims victorious scream..

Fear not the shadow
embrace the bad we have done
and the bad we will do
to integrate our shadow
is to grow leap and bounds
when we finally break through
……..

I love you
In a way that casts nothing but
Shadow and shame
On the way you love me.

I do not feel content
Within a gaze that only looks
At a face so pretty
And nothing beyond.
Mysty Monroe Jan 7
In a town that whispers secrets,
shadows paint the walls,
I walk these empty streets alone,
where silence softly calls.
With my head held high,
but my heart tucked away,
The echoes of yesterday
keep haunting me today.
I wear independence like a threadbare coat,
Each stitch tells a story,
each tear feels like a boat,
The sun sets low, behind the trees I've known,
Casting haunting memories in hues of amber and stone.
I count the stars as they flicker to the beat,
Each one a whisper of love, now just bittersweet.
I learn to dance with shadows, let them pull me close,
In the quiet solitude, I find what matters most,
But the weight of my decisions hangs heavy in the night,
A ghost of who I could’ve been, just out of reach, out of sight.
So I chase the dawn with my fragile, open heart,
Yet the more I seek the sun, the more I drift apart.
In the echo of my laughter, there's a tremble, there's a sigh,
For the freedom that I long for also makes me want to cry.
I'll raise a glass to freedom, to the choices that I've made,
But behind this brave facade, a part of me will fade.
In every step I take alone, there's a wish for company,
For in this independence, I'm still longing to be free.
