On dreary, darkened, gloomy days
Of which there seems to be no escape,
You take a stroll along a forgotten lane
Gnarled tree branches guiding you with their pointing fingers,
Reminding you of your wizened grandmother.
Your light footsteps seem loud,
Somehow heavier as the downcast leaves cry out below them.
You breathe in the cool autumn air,
Sharpening your senses as your unruly hair fans out behind you;
And all at once the scene changes.

The seasons change as if before your eyes
A winter's blizzard passing as if a fleeting thought, covering all in your path.
You shiver in your light jacket,
Unprepared for the frosty reception of Mother Nature.
Seeming to sense your struggle,
The clouds open like a yawning mouth
Allowing the frigid grip of winter to weaken.

Soon wildflowers take their time emerging from the soil,
Giving color and soul where lifelessness once reigned.
Nearby you hear the happy trickle of a stream,
Filled to the brim with spring rains
And still you walk on as the seasons change around you.

Odd, it seems, to pay such little mind to the changes happening
Inside yourself as the seasons unfold in a graceful dance around you.

If you were to stop, to slow down and look, you'd notice.
Notice the length of your hair
And how it seems to fall much longer than when you began this dreary stroll,
How as you pass through the delightful frost of winter
Your bones ache and your mind is weary as you shiver inside yourself;

Notice in summer the sleepy romance that hangs in the air, pulling you to a blissful sleep.
Dark encroaches once more before life begins again.

Because someone doesn’t love like you
Does it mean that they’re not true?
Should different loves ever compare?
Whom would judge which is fair…

To impose rules in love of to demand
Destroys its potential to expand
Love has wonderful holistic ability
For new ideas and endless possibility…

Relationships evolve together – separately each
Each person having much the other to teach
It takes two whole people willing to become
Parts of each other, as one whole SUM.

Love doesn’t have to “change” with vicissitude
Though it should adapt to it with aptitude
Life is constant alteration and flux
Understanding this seems to be the crux…

Love how you love
And you be you
Let them be them
And love you too…

an adorable little lamb
fur so soft, strong like a ram
who would have known
you were nothing but a sham.

looking back, perhaps you really were
who you were
i thought of you like a wolf in sheep's clothing
but i think we just didn't fit, without us knowing

you were like a lamb, soft in your own right
but i was a dolphin, never destined to see the light
i hope you're flocking in the fields
and that time has made you heal.
don't call it a relationship, but i'm sorry. summer 2018.

You trap me in your gaze
my rosy pink lips and blush cheeks.
You stop time in a summer haze,
your soul snatching up mine
as it lies all faint and weak.
His voice it plays
a strange and lovely song
the finest tones I did hear.
He’s a quiet soul
but his affections are not those of meek.
His eyes are burning, set in a blaze
whenever he looks upon I.
His eyes betray, the things he can’t say,
a love called love, thus this we can’t speak.
An intense echo drums the halls
and sends shivers to down to your feet.
Like a red rose in summer
that blooms in the day,
a majestical symphony performed
in silence.
warming the hearts of we;
we hearts of wind to flame changing,
night to day.

you're like a ray of sunshine
a beam that steadies my heart 'til I'm fine
a someone that always holds me on line
in my head, you are mine

although i **** you so often
you always make my heart soften
still, i can't tell you this, i said again
so I'm just gonna write my feelings out with a pen
it ***** when you can't say your own feelings, right?

when my
heart breaks,
my soul does too;
and I can only afford
to lose one,
but not two
Extracted from my previous poem; I feel that it deserves its own spot

I locked myself in
this doorless tower I built;
but you bragged that
you are a pious locksmith,
and the curious me
wanted to see you try

you wanted to play
knight in shining armour
but alas,
I was the princess
you did not save

forever trapped
in this sealed tower,
when will I truly be free;
for today I learned,
even the experienced you
do not have the key
choices were made but my heart is filled with regrets.

i liked how i opened you
from the depths within our small world
how i pushed you out of the blue
now, nothing is blurred

i adore how you speak with so little words
from the way you choose the phrases you tell
how one word from you i instanly get absurd
now, i realized, i have fell

i love how you remember the smallest of the things
from my strange fascinations to my ordinary repulsion
how you remind me of my often mood swings
now, everything's just a memory fraction

i liked how you opened me from my own
i adored how you can have such patient with me
i loved how you always get me in any tone
now, I'm letting you free.
to the person whose memory i try to hold on to, I'm letting you go.
