Set I
My closet is full of obscure sorrows
How do you give CPR to a heart that's hollow?
I wish I had the desire to care less about things
This inception came from people cutting my heartstrings
This monkey on my back won't loosen my grip on life
Its claws gnaw into my back like a corkscrew knife
I've made too many fumbles near the end zone
I doubt the success in my life with emotions I must condone
Once upon a time, I played life loosely
I cut off my ears and was deaf to the wise
Life's tsunami washed me away from paradise
Cutting off core friends sunk my heart acutely
I treated my life as a volleyball game
Kept everything weighing me down in the air
The risks, the lessons, bounced freely in the hands of others
It was only a matter of time before I was betrayed by my brothers
Before I blamed my failures on everyone else
Without examining my dysfunctional intellect myself
I tried to rely on others; I was left in the ocean to wallow
Learning from my actions I pieced together a fragment of sorrows
"the desire to care less about things—to loosen your grip on your life, to stop glancing behind you every few steps, afraid that someone will ****** it from you before you reach the end zone—rather to hold your life loosely and playfully, like a volleyball, keeping it in the air, with only quick fleeting interventions, ..."

You deserve someone
Who’ll bring down the stars for you

Sometimes
Intelligence is just another
Set of instincts
Don’t ignore your intelligence

You’re better than you think
You’ll be better than now

Trust your eyes

You made mistakes
You learnt
That means you were successful

Step to step

If you feel
Like you’re slipping
Maybe you just need to slip a bit

Pause
Take your time
It’s your world

Anger
Is a form of
Hurt

There are problems
You won’t be able to-
(allowed to)
-solve
And that’s okay
It’s not your fault

It’s okay to close the doors
Let’s find some peace and quiet

Does it feel hopeless?

Sometimes you can’t help but feel helpless
It’s okay
You can’t be confident all the time

Sometimes we achieve
Unexpected things
Things I told myself when there was no one to comfort me

At the moment of life in that case,
Suppose failure meets u n slaps on ur face...
A time comes where solution is hard to find,,
Where u feel upset n situation is not kind..
Have some patience be calm & steady,,
Prepare yourself and be ready....

Dont be disappoint if u fail,
Its boat of ur life u have to sail..
Obstacles are waiting further on the way.,,
Your plan should be complete & action should say...
Life is full of surprises direct or Eddy,,
Just be prepare for a tough ride n be READY....
Always be ready ......because life is full of opportunity..
What doesn't **** you
makes you dangerous.

You can get in a mood where you’re so sad that you think you’ll never be happy again
Or be so happy you think you’ll never be sad again.

Sometimes you will feel very insecure and think little of yourself
Sometimes things will happen, and you will blame yourself

You will believe that you’ll never go anywhere in life
Compare yourself to others too much and wish you were more alike

And I know that these are not the only things that will challenge you through life,
So please dear friend listen well, I have some things that you should know.

Your parents are not always right about you
You are defined by you and your choices

Don’t compare yourself to anyone else, they are different than you.
Different doesn’t mean bad, Autumn colour trees are nice, but so are flowery fields.

It’s okay to ask for help, it doesn’t make you weak in any way.

You will go places. You have a chance at a great future. Stay alive and see what it is

Other people will make choices that will hurt you. But it doesn’t mean it’s your fault.

You are amazing. You’re a good person
You can do that thing you’re scared of.
You won’t fail like you think you will
No one is judging you as much as you think
Your friends don’t hate you
Your music is cool
You clothes are nice
Your smile is pretty
Life will make sense
Good people exist
High school isn’t that scary
You will love yourself
You will feel loved
You will be lost
You feel feel sad again

You will feel happy again
Nobody ever told me these things and if they did I never believed them. I’m starting to now. So now I’m putting them out there because people need to be told these things.

The rains lash their love on the city,
a romance that’s hard to comprehend,
as the latter soaks up the former,
I sit in my room, fighting off the mundane.

I look over flocks of people,
moving around on the streets.
Living lives I’ve never known,
and perspectives I might not ever see.

The physical limitations of my body,
hinder the limitless thoughts it bears.
I want to live a thousand lives at once,
and my mind wants to break the cage.

Mornings.

I go to the freezer and pick out a waffle

Why are waffles the way they are?

They have craters
They break
And they flake

So I yell

"Why cant you be like the pancake?!"
So full
So soft

"Isnt that what breakfast food is supposed to be?!"

I sit back down

And finish my waffle.
Your scars and uniqueness make you who you are. You dont have to be a pancake to be a great breakfast food!
My sons, there’re things I hope you’ve learned,
About the proper way to live.
And with any respect I’ve earned,
I’ve fatherly advice to give.

If you’re alone and can’t connect,
There’s a girl and you can’t reach her,
Know that love follows intellect.
Aspire first to be her teacher.

To say “I love you” frequently
Is only good if you are true.
The pain of loving secretly
Will always eat away at you.

Nurture your curiosity,
Though there’s sometimes no solution.
Let asking be your specialty,
And learning your evolution.

Identify the righteous way,
Aware of who you’re meant to be.
Your mirror at least once per day,
Should reflect pride in what you see.

Each morning that you see the sun,
Appreciate your sense of awe.
Know your soul will always be one
With your father’s God of Torah.

Always give yourself to others
You can’t be selfish and content.
If you err and hurt another,
It should never be with intent.

When life gives you a broken heart,
Even if that heart is not yours,
Just find some wisdom to impart.
Let self-compassion open doors.

When you have children of your own,
And I’m in Heaven up above,
Know this, my son, you’re not alone—
Inside you is your father’s love.
