Some could say she was a multi-ethnic poet, others
Might want to focus on her motherhood to two
Peaceful beings, grown up to become models, of
Honesty, kindness, fairness and dignity.

Her friends toast to her with champagne glasses,
As her father before her, she enjoyed life to the fullest,
Without major extravaganza casting smiles, able to twist
Sorrow into laughter, lighting rooms as she entered.

Her lovers remember her as the sensual essence
Of a woman, so they defined her many a time, though
She’d ignore why. She wore no make-up nor high heel
Shoes, no creams to prevent age from exhibiting itself.

Her tattooist drew the stars on her body, has knowledge
Of the celestial maps engraved with ink by needles,
Yet I am the only one who knows her deeply, in me
She confided, the creative thoughts concealed in her mind.

She was a tenacious human with courageous concepts,
Dictated by inspiring instincts, something she called
Universal consciousness underlining all, that ever
Was, is and will be, throughout special infinity.

She reconnected the dots and spread the word enticing
Those who crossed her passage to feel, the harmony, unite
In common realisation, that we are one with all and nothing
Can support our existence other than love.

I’ll miss her tender lioness features,
Her mane covering eyes elsewhere, as she gazed
Into the abysses in my direction. Faithfully hers forever,
Mac Apple, alias Pro.

feel the sun on my neck,
shining on me on the deck,
i hear the breeze,
it's rustling the trees.

see the birds fly away,
across the town and across the bay,
think about the life you've led,
as you lay on your deathbed.

your legacy will live on,
until the last dawn,
you will be know as the great,
but you were used as bait.

When we sat at our desks
heads hung low over papers
and computers, furiously
pouring out our wildest dreams
and deepest feelings into words.
For others to read
For the universe to fulfill.
We were poets

                             But when we stood up
                      and joined our loved ones
                      in daily conversations and
                          laughter, at dinners and.
                          picnics and concerts
                    and enjoyed the adventures
                   of shared experiences
            and similarities and differences,
                      We became the poetry.

When we left the safe cocoon of
solitude to meet people and
make friends and fall in love
with souls with eyes we'd
never forget and bodies
we never knew we craved.
Pieces of us we didn't know
were missing but now couldn't
live without. We became poetry.

When we shakily dotted that final "I"
with wrinkled hands and laboured
up the stairs to lie down next
to our soul mates. Heads filled
with experiences and memories
of adventures, weddings, birthdays
lessons learnt and loved ones lost
passions fulfilled and legacies built

When we laid down in the arms
of our loves and watched the moments
play in our eyes one last time
and waited for the show to stop
and for the curtains to close
To take the final bow and close
our eyes for the last time
while our breaths
left our bodies and our loves wept
while looking down at the shell of what
we used to be.
Holding it in their arms.
There in that moment, my friend
We became the poetry.

In this fast-paced race called Life
Where people come and go quickly
Searching for happiness amidst all strife
Only to be eaten alive by a harsh reality

A new chapter awaits this young lad
Seeking only to find his place in the world
Prepared to give everything he ever had
Just to have his voice heard ‘round the world

He dreams of greatness to be earned
Harsh years he endured proved to help
All the failures from which he learned
Building up that grandiose life for himself

The music he yearned to resonate in his heart
The songs about pocket of smiles one seeks
Scattered in the twists of this one complex art
This uncertainty called Life and its enigmatic tricks

Strong in resolve we all sought to secure
To leave an imprint among those that live here
This untitled song that we all need to endure
This uniqueness called Life only we can hear

He has yet to find security in this uncertainty
Be it love or contentment he still yearns for them
Hope is fleeting but the heart remains sturdy
Someday he’ll leave footprints, rule his own realm

Today the journey remains to be taken
With small steps we walk towards our destinies
With hope in our hearts our resolve strengthened
Facing the realities of Life, facing and fighting uncertainties

In this untitled life that we hope to write ourselves
How will you chronicle your own journeys?
How will we be remembered in the library shelves?
What will we leave behind, our lasting legacies?

LIFE IS A COLORING BOOK WHEREBY PAGE AFTER PAGE
IS SCRIPTED FROM MY LIFETIME EXPERIENCES.
SOMETIMES I GET THINGS PERFECTLY INSIDE THE LINE AS I...
CONFORM TO DIFFERENT RULES AS OTHERS WATCH ON IN JUDGEMENT.

BUT AS TIME GOES ON AND MY CONNECTION TO INNER CHILD BONDS WITHIN LIFE TEACHES THAT, I  HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE THE LINE TO FOLLOW MY OWN HEART. IT IS A CHALLENGE TO STAY TRUE TO SELF AND COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINE. BUT, IN THE END IT IS WORTH IT.

I FOUND,  I DO BEST MOVING OUTSIDE THE LINE, FOR EACH COLOR I USE MAKES MY INNER RAINBOW SHINE MORE. MAKES MY ESSENCE FULL OF CREATIVE LIGHT THAT OPENS HEART.  MAKES ME FEEL HARMONY AND PEACE.

THE LIGHTS AND DARKS ARE WHAT MAKE UP MY PICTURE WHEREBY I DO NOT DISCOUNT THE DARK MOMENTS FOR THERE IS ALWAYS LIGHT NEAR.

AS I WORK MY PAGES BEGINS TO SPARKLE WITH LOVE ENERGY AND THEN ALL LINES DISAPPEAR. AND  OLORS ARE READY TO TANTALIZE AN ONLOOKERS EYES. THEN THERE ARE NO LINES TO FOLLOW. NO PLACES WHERE I CAN BE JUDGED BY OTHERS.

IN THE END I SHALL PRESENT TO MANY MY BOOK FULL OF BEAUTIFUL SCENES.
IT'S THE WISDOM LEARNED AFTER JUMPING THE HUDDLE OF CONFORMITY.  COME TO LOOK AT THE MEANING BEHIND MY FREE COLORFUL TOME.  IT'S MY LEGACY.

Don't be lost by looking back
Don't dream of living forever
Move and make your golden
steps on the sands of time
So when your body returns
to dust,
Your legacy will shine and sing
"I was here."
In order to live forever, we need to take risks.

Desperation.
Inspiration, Determination.
What it takes to overcome
To do more than what your fathers done.
But always remember that when you succeed,
You left a mother in need
A brother to feed, a child that he didn’t plan for
Some firsts, seconds, and thirds that struggled with you

You can’t help them all
Most will see it as luck
Think you don’t give a ****
Because the media twists tales
And covers the truth up
Shows all the love at the top
How it all seems so ideal, like it just came out of nothing
Because it’s hard to dethrone a king once you’ve been conditioned to love him

Tell them while you were rising
You never forgot but you couldn’t stop fighting
Ask them, did Frederick Douglass’s brother ever see freedom?
Did he hate him for circumstances or did he even get to see him?
