My life's work is the wiggling leap
Of a soft little kitten, who lands in a heap.

My life's work is the hyper, swift lick
Of a rambunctious puppy who moves lightning quick.

My life's work is the smile of a friend,
Who I know will be with me till the bitter end.

My life's work is a high GPA;
Perseverance is how I got here today.

My life's work are these words that I write,
And the heartfelt confession, "you saved my life".

My life's work is nowhere near done.
I fell down, I got up, now I'm ready to run.
I volunteer at a place that helps people with mental issues (like National Suicide Hotline) and somebody told me that I saved their life. It really helped me pull myself back to a stabilized condition. Even though I still feel like **** and quarantine has been really hard, I'm pushing through it and appreciating the good that I do have

Eyes that show you "I will love you forever"
Eyes that tell you “I am smart and clever”
Eyes that say “My love has no end”
Eyes that ask you “Will you be my friend?”
Eyes that show you "I want a lap to rest in"
Eyes that beg you "Please tickle my chin"
Eyes that want to be chosen and cared for
Eyes that stare at the shelter door
Eyes that remain hopeful as you decide
Eyes that tell you “I will stay by your side
Eyes that say “I’d like space to roam”
Eyes that ask you “Can you give me a home?”
Eyes that beg you “Please pick me”
Eyes that show you how happy you can be!

I always got your back
no matter what.
I will kiss your bruises
and your cuts.

We will stay together
through thick and thin.
You will always be
my little, soft kitten.

You are my baby
ball of fur.
My favorite sound is
when you purr.

I love you,
my pretty kitty cat.
Nothing in this world
can change that.
Your cat ears tell a story,
Your tail tells who you are;
And though you're down, remember
That you are my rising star.

Of you I sing, while day-bells ring
And skylarks in the sky
Come circling round you, to astound you
While the kittens sigh.

And, **! My special kitten,
I profoundly adore
Your every feline charm, dear
And cherish you the more.

Your cat ears tell a story,
Your tail tells who you are;
And though you're down, remember
That you are my rising star.
The poem was inspired by this quote from Fae N'Tien: "With cat ears on her head and ***** in her bloodstream, she was invincible."

It was the other of two poems dedicated to Lea Van Doorn, the first one being  "The Summer Wind".
The summer wind
The golden year
Your loveliness
Dispelled my fear
Your gentle charms enchant me, dear
In happiness I shed a tear

Dear KittyNoir, do I adore
Please keep me warm, this I implore
Dear KittyNoir, hope lies in store
Come live with me forevermore!

The little clouds
The summer sky
Your sweet embrace
Draws me so nigh
While seeing you, I let a sigh
I felt so lucky I could die.

Dear KittyNoir, do I adore
Please keep me warm, this I implore
Dear KittyNoir, hope lies in store
Come live with me forevermore!

So, kitten-girl
Climb down the tree
Don't hesitate
To leap to me
Don't be afraid to live your dream,
And be the best that you can be.

Dear KittyNoir, do I adore
Please keep me warm, this I implore
Dear KittyNoir, hope lies in store
Come live with me forevermore!
The melody used by this poem comes from the unofficial national anthem of the historic region of Moravia, "Jsem Moravan" (I am a Moravian), sometimes also called "Ó Moravo" (O Moravia), written in 1904 by Kašpar Pivoda, with music composed by Vaclav Novotny 37 years ago.

It was one of the first three Chateau poems written by me (the others being "Little Kitten-Lady" and "I Long For Molly", and one of the two poems that were dedicated to one of the Chateau's models, Lea Van Doorn, followed by "Your Cat Ears Tell A Story".
Whereforth art the kittens, Isibella, Isibella?
Why doth they long for the spring?
Nearer, o, nearer, mine heart holdeth thee dearer
As long as the first scent of spring draws me nearer
To thee, to thee.
O stretch thou thy paws high, and sing, sing,
so stretch thou thy paws high and sing.
Strange as it seems,
November schemes,
For Isi bears the moonlight gleam.

For as I saw
This fluffy awe
Ricardo, memes, on me bestow!

She melts my heart,
This kitten-****
Propels me from the very start!

Yet, fill my soul!
And make me whole
Till I have reached the final goal.

You moonshine light,
That fills the night,
With lunar gleam and kitten blight.

And dear sweet cat,
I'll tell you that,
I'm fond of you, from sole to hat.

Of ears and tail,
I shall not fail
To feel your floof beyond the pale.

And they shall love
This morning dove
That's you, who's sent from up above.

Ah! Isi dear,
You make me steer
Towards your sight, your kitten-gear.

This kitten-gear!
So sweet and sheer
*******-knots dispel my fear.

*******-knots
And dazzling Goths
Victorian air, I breath a lot!

Sing high, my soul,
From pole to pole,
That you, my cat-girl, make me whole!

A Tomcat and Queen fought over fiercely
Where to educate their brilliant kitty
They agreed upon two
CATS Boston and Purr-due
Thus avoiding a cat-astrophe
8/23/2019 - Poetry form: Limerick - "Tomcat" means an adult male cat that can still breed, and "Queen" means an adult female cat currently raising kittens or a soon-to-be-mother. Please note:  If you're wondering what allows me to put a little cat-spin on the spelling of "Purdue" and "catastrophe", that's what's referred to as poetic license.  I have one of those. :) - Copyright © Mark Toney | Year Posted 2019

Poetry sits like a cat on my chest
It purrs at me,
Licking the tips of my fingers
Pressing its soft beating belly to mine
I used to have to cajole it up here

But I'm so mean to it tonight

I do not tap its ears or rub its back
Too tired now to plait its fur
And call its affection pretty
But I lie quite still and I try to forget
I'd rather shove it off and have a cigarette.
Not in the mood
