As the little minds drift off to sleep with a strife,
the unsung heroes of the night come to life.
Protection from the succubus of the eventide,
using their powers of whim with a glide.
Stitched smiles and button eyes defend the adolescents
under the shine of crescents.
While the nightmares attempt to emerge,
the guardians uphold with a surge.
Unable to pirate their minds,
they dissipate with a wind.
The unsung heroes take their win with a fain,
therefore the children of the world are safe again.
A whimsical poem about teddy bears. I felt as if I didn't have enough fun poems in my book, so I wrote one.

I seek and quest about the world
With hands both harsh and tender
To see the flag of fate unfurled
And all of it's cruel splendor
I seek the songs e're gone unsung
And singers not yet made
For these are echoes not yet rung
And heroes not yet bade
Pity not my humble task
Though humble it may be
For when it's found this 'I' and 'you'
Become a stronger 'we'

I know that heroes often die
but I can not feel their pain

like footsteps in the dark
I can not see a face
but I know you're walking there,
going someplace- I don't know where.

So is it so terribly strange,
to want to be at your side?
Through all of the days and through the nights
Leaving starlit steps behind.
Strange
how it is so hard
When stillness hurts the most

And when all you do is strain
to make the next sunrise

It's when I need you the most
'cause while your embers start to dim,
I see they still cast a holy light,
a warning, a welcome, my beacon in the night.

So is it so terribly strange,
to want to be at your side?
While fighting our way to the sunrise,
leaving scarlet steps behind.
yes it's strange,
how close that we are,
the distance is too far.

---

And I know that heroes often die
And I can not feel their pain

Only the absence of her voice,
and the echo of his cane.

You know, their silence fills the night
And I can not see a flame

So is it so terribly strange
to want to be by your side?

The empathy of a teacher who hears that a girl they belittled  has commuted suicide.
The sadness of a parent who will always wonder why.
The grief of her friends, they'll always pretend that she never seemed sad in the end.
I think we should all take a break, take a moment to state that suicide is not alright.
We live In a world where our minds are swirled with poisionus lies.
The ******* irony of if.
To be told to live your life a certain way, will only betray you.
Now politicians wearing suitable-ties discuss the times that schools should be open, that hours should be longer, so more children will suffer.
See, our system is ******, we have people in charge of us that couldn't give a **** if we are happy or sad.
They just want more money to add, to their pockets. The *******.
So, it goes on. And don't you forget that girls last song.
That she didn't want to live on, that she'd rather be gone, than stay in a world where her heroes were dead and her enemies were in power.
When I was in school, there was a girl in my year who committed suicide. And for weeks before her English teacher had been putting her down, she was also being bullied, and failing her exams.
She had her whole life ahead of her, but all she could see was what was infront of her. She couldn't see past school and the world system.
I know that there are many more people out there who feel like she did, and I wish there was something that I could do about it.

Listening to my CD's late at night
In my room
Classics
Songs that molded impressionable children
Full of life and passion
Running hand in hand
Through the pouring November rain
Shaped a generation...
The eternal art of legends
Will all be forgotten
Like you
It makes me cry
They are no longer with us
I never got to meet my heroes
People who influenced me so much
And so many others

I heard the news today, oh boy
Bowie died and I cried
I heard his final songs
And I didn't sing along
I did not interrupt
I cried more than when my grandmother died
David Jones is gone

"Ground control to Major Tom.... "

I heard the news today, oh boy
And what did I find
Eyedea is gone, his message left behind
A true soul moved on
To the void
Drugs again...
When will it all end
I played his songs for hours
Through the night
I cried
And I cried
I cried more then when my mother died
I felt nothing then
And I moved on
Forgotten...

"The snow won't melt...
The fog won't clear..."
Oh how I wish you were here

When I first heard Elvis, I shivered.

Blue, blue, blue suede shoes, heartbreak hotel, you hound dog, you!

But when the Beatles came along, I left you behind.

Later when you came to Huntsville, you were fat, and then you went back to Memphis and killed yourself--- **** you!
I want my heroes to always be heroes.
I can change but my heroes can't.
And yes, I'm that old.

As we commemorate this Anzac Day,
We shall remember them this way,
Forever asleep, young and brave,
Heroes now resting in foreign graves,
We thank them for our freedom today,
Forever asleep, always young and brave.

There is one thing that is certain you possess impeccable strength and you love a challenge.
Your always improving your flaws on top of  the obstacles you manage.
Superman does the same dealing with villains and their new tactics mainly.
You've always worked hard no matter what life throws at you daily.
Superman fights for those who are good, when they themselves can't. He saves the day.
When you see the innocent being troubled you step in to set the record straight.
From standing up for people to throwing jerks off the bus. A man of Steel is what your body is made of.
Your only human and there are times you feel under the weather,
Even superman gets weak when kryptonite is near him.
But, I never seen or heard superman say what he couldn't do
and to be honest I also never heard it from you.
Superman only exist in DC comic books
However, this is reality and you are what a real superman looks.
hardly a day goes by
without the news
of yet more suicide attacks
that **** mothers and children
     innocently playing in parks
     listening to their favorite songs
friends chatting over tea and coffee
expectant travelers on their way
     to business  family  or lovers

the perpetrators of such deeds
must be a very lonely crowd
with eyes as empty as their hearts
and frozen souls that harbor the illusion
       that cowards will turn heroes
       that killing innocents is brave
that the world will recognize their great importance
when they bring ****** ends to happy lives

it will not come to pass

no peace
in this   or any other world
can find its way to them
who ****** in cold blood

looking for a fresh page
a new start
but I fail
the lights are still down
in the back of my brain
seems impossible to come out of this alive

looking for a hand to hold mine
a friendly smile
a saviour
but I am only lying to myself
as I know,
today's heroes are the ones
who tomorrow will shoot you down

I look for love
and kind words at night
I look for the star that's gonna make light on my path
I look for someone who'll tell me
that it is gonna be all right

I look around for rescuers
I picture them in my mind
I smile when I think that I might one day find
they're real
and I forget for a few moments
there are only temporary heroes
and the ones to save me today
will tomorrow be the first ones
to **** me with their ****** hands

I look around for temporary heroes
and I forget
that my only forever lasting hero
lives within myself
gotta learn to love myself
