Poetry is heavy as lead
in my mouth.

Tree branches find more grace
in a wind that’s ragged.

Time lags when you're young
To allow wonder to win,
To let on a chance for palpable grace
In the exhale of existence.
A sentiment to my children, and remembering what it was like to wonder and imagine as a child myself.
Glenn Currier Dec 2019
Do you know someone who heals,
in whose presence you feel whole
you do not have to bow or kneel
nor beg nor fool nor cajole?

Do you know another whose care
and ability to reach inside
erases doubt and lays you bare
your doubt and pride are laid aside?

Distrust in me is the boulder rock
that averts, delays and hesitates,
stems the tide and sadly blocks
the flowing stream of healing grace.

Between the lines of hollow faiths,
I offer my mind to the saving grace.
Of empty words and bitter lies,
I spend my time searching for subtle signs.

Between the lines of tempting truths,
I offer my soul to the saving grace.
Bless this child whose heart is pure,
To avoid the grasps of those impure.

Between the lines of meaningless deaths,
I offer my body to the saving grace.
Give me strength to escape this hold,
That of which had been mistaken for a passionate embrace.

Between the lines of the words untold,
I offer my self to the great unknown.
Will you offer your self as well?
Christmas at Forest Heights Baptist Church is something to behold,
We are busy elves, making our church beautiful, colorful, and bold!
We are a small church with a big heart for giving.
We give to Lottie Moon, the Angel Tree, Halleluiah Night, Thanksgiving baskets and more.
Our love for Jesus and His grace make us give generously with our time and love,
We--without need for recognition, serve because we serve a loving Creator above!
Forest Heights’ members do not wait for Christmas to help our fellow man,
Daily we serve those who need a helping hand.
Remember, Jesus’ tears were not for the pain He endured.
No!  It was for our sins and disobedience to His Word.
So, let us be grateful and kind to others this Christmas and beyond,
God has blessed us with His One and only Son,
and another year filled with blessings, mercy, and grace.
Let’s leave footprints of love until we meet His embrace and loving Face!

Merry Christmas to All!
This is a poem I wrote for my church for this Christmas (December 2019).

And when it comes to
Too much

Too much

With a cup of coffee
Could be
