Light rain falls into my day
darkened skies hang low
inside dry suffused dismay
and a small nagging unease
reminds me a clear sunny day
is a gift in the murky malaise
to make this persistent haunt
bearable
until again light reigns.
Sometimes I can't resist a play on words. ;-)

Here comes a fat boy
Hands full of chocolates and toys
Had a bag full of dreams
Alas became part of many funny memes
Wore big baggy pants
And was good with rants
Didn’t wear any specs
Still looks perplexed
Run and hide in your room
For he'll ****** your food
He is filled with gloom
Still kind and good
Dumped by many girls
Had hair full of curls
Has a life full of hopes
Yet lives like a Pope
Getting into his old age
But felt like a lion in a cage
Was always filled with rage
Unfortunately had to turn into a sage
Poor little fat boy
Always deprived of the joy
Poor little fat boy
Always deprived of the joy

With April's first dawn
I started building a wall
that gloom can not climb
This is still so new to me, can I consider this a haiku?
Thanks for the feedback.

The clouds are crying
with me.

As I walk down this corridor,

The walls melt with my sins.

For what I thought was right, was actually wrong.

The foundation that had been built below has now risen above,

Meant to crush its very creator.

As I walk down this corridor, the world dissipates.

Leaving me, a lone soul among the vast, set ajar with the flavors of love lingering behind.

Life is an act of infidelity, shadowed by blurred commitment.

For when we arise, we are void of the responsibilities.

But taken from the very purpose of life, which is to be responsible for living.
What is the true purpose of love?

The darkness is right there

But the light is over there too

It won't make sense to many people

But it was so much easier to walk into the dark and watch the light

And imagine

What it would feel like
Akintola kunle Mar 2020

this poem is a praise song about Nigeria, it is artfully channeled towards the great love the writer has for his country . thus refer her as my lady and trying to glorify her among other country in Africa

The darkest of nights
The perfect time for the lights
But he couldn't see his light
Amongst the rest
All he could see was a heavy
Thick
Burdening
abyss.

The deep, dark pit
holds me tight,

Though my arms fight
with all my might.

Its pitchy blackness
filled with gloom,

Every hour
spreading doom.

On and on, I try to flee,
knowing well its not to be.
