The waves hold secrets
of fishermen's lives
fishermen's wives

buried at sea
sacrificed
giving life
to the ones they love
left on the shore, looking out
to an endless horizon
praying for God's mercy, love

safe return
for the fishermen
and the fisherman's friends
who left port
with bravado, confidence
they could conquer Neptune's wrath
sail between heaven and hell
bringing home the catch
from the depths

celebrate another day of life
snatched from the precipice
of a watery grave

Fish bodies filter
Water of life
Nightmares come open faced
Polluted seas have no blame
Disease has no blame
However unasked for
Remains cold and real;
Answer is trees
Their wild statures lay strong in
Death bed of atmosphere
Broken-limbed and worn
Waiting for things with wings
In open womb to be born
Setting wet souls free
(But what does that mean)

to catch all the
fish you

of them.

you're very good

at catching
lots
of
fish

good at
catching just

one.

We cast our lines
And hooks
Into the sea
And wait for bites
From the many fish
But,
I never really liked
Fishing anyways

Bear’s certain
it’s a bear
alone with salmon
it’s a bear
on the mountain
it’s a bear
up a canyon
it’s a bear
eating berries
it’s a bear
sedated, carried
it’s a bear
answer, query
it’s a bear
clown or faery
it’s a bear

A baker on our street could not bake,
He could only fish in the nearby rivers and lake,
Mum bought his bakery,
He bought our old fish factory,
Both are happy for God's sake.
