I have been walking past a dead rotting body for weeks now.

A badgers body perfect looking at first and slowly watching the worms and maggots eat away at the flesh. slowly decaying and rotting and becoming nothing. this is life. this is real. and this is the truth. this is everyone's eventuality. that is our future.

The smell of death was unforgettable, and it makes me wonder why we try so hard when in the end we are just a body that will fade to nothing...
I feel not like I've closed a chapter, but that I've ended the book. One that may have no sequel, one where a new book, entirely separate, is yet to know it's opening moment.

Its strange that people
are capable
of storing memories

about you
that you have since forgotten.

I have this one friend who tells me things about myself that I never knew.

Be it a story I told or a joke I pulled.

I was quite the jester.

It weirds me out that there are people who hold memories of me
be it fond be it
friendly.

I made an impact,
somewhere.

At some point in time.

I think he remembers so much about me because we were best friends once.

I feel like I have betrayed a lot of people.
Today has been rough.
There once was a young girl
Who loved to bake.
She was a dreamer
And a believer.
But she was the daughter of a noble
And became engaged to a foolish king.
And then, she met him.
Mysterious
Surprising
Dashing
Handsome
The joker from lands far off.
With a knack for magic
And baker girls.
They fell into a forbidden love.
Just as they were to run away together
He was killed.
It was quick
Fast
Clean
And right in front of her.
She fell into a state of rage and unfeeling.
Her first order upon becoming queen
Was to execute the killer.
“Off with his head.”
And she became
The
Queen
Of
Hearts.
A monster.
A destroyer.
A villian.

Not all fairy tales
Have happy endings.
Based off the book "Heartless" by Marissa Meyer. I just finished it, and I was not happy with that ending.

a shifting point of view
gives rise to something new:
an old hat cast

and even though I’m gone,
the world will move on
and so will you

An onomatopoeia
From another time,
And yet metastasized into this age
Of silent computation—
Faster than thought.
Seamless auditory stimulation
Permeates;
Many cannot go without a soundtrack
In which to willfully drown.

Click...whirrr...
Another ubiquitous day dawns;
The moon falls and the sun rises
And the bright little creature
Emerges from the darkness
To end the oblivion,
To replace,
To put an end to the silent pain.

you took my heart
said you'll return it
but,
gave it to one
with a different name
than me.

got into my seat, took on the highs and lows

the same way that we all go

scooting over for whoever joined the ride

(and the ride was better with you by my side

we climbed up into the sky and the stars

me with my words and you with your guitar

the descend seemed to last forever, although

when we went back down, we found it was never so

you stopped the wheel, got down, and it never started again)

waiting for the motions to bring the night to an end

going to take all the highs and lows as I go

(looking for an answer to a question you’ve always known)

when time starts to spin (when you can also see the light

will I shift when, once more, I find you by my side?)
