You say that you love me
But I'm drifting
You say that you need me
But I'm drifting
You say so many things
But I'm difting
      Away from you
             On the muscles of waves
Salt in my eyes sting like watery pins
Cause I'm drifting
Outside your embrace, sun burns skin
Cause I'm drifting
I'm sickend by my own love for you
Cause I'm drifting
      The current is merciless
My esophagus has it's own tide
I'm lost in a desert of continuos motion without an ore or sail
I can see you no more
unless you save me from drifting
              outside your life
                     outside your heart
              outside of your bedroom door
Just when I'm about to let go
The light house begins to show
You say the words
That keep me from drifting
You say them so sweet and so kind
They keep me from drifting
But I come to with the painful
        experiences I've had with you
And all I want to do
Is continue to drift away from you too

Like the flow that is time
I'm drifting like a leaf floating on the cool waters
Torn from the branches where I originated
Other leaves floating to their destination

The chlorophyll breaking down the colors of green pigments
Slowly wilting away internally
The surface turning brittle and shatter at one's grasp
Lying there until the start of rebirth

Once again, the cradles reveal a new identity
The branches supporting the developing life
Transporting basic necessities of life
Until the cycle begin once again and the leaf starts to drift away

Drifting minds unwind till they find
Solace in the simplest of thought.
Other minds can drift from time to time
To find reason where reason is not.

A slight breeze of wind carries
Off your voice, the butterfly
Of your words drifting to a far away never,
Pinned down with a solitary needle,
Through the heart,
Love’s true dart.

Some said you were inhaled with ferocious delicacy, only to be
Exhaled into back street pubs and rented motel rooms with broken curtains for broken hearts - societies stinking breath in your eyes.

Others feared that you were the wave’s rhythm, each lap taking you to somewhere warmer,
you are the wind chill,
you are the sonnets lapping on the shore,
I hope you’re sure.

I am here
And you are further forever than I.

Meet me in the park

By the old dying tree

We’ll share our secrets in the dark

And maybe we’ll be able to see

Meet me on the bridge

By the guardrail

We’ll explain our stories

And maybe we’ll be able to set sail

Meet me on the beach

By the shore

We’ll explore

And maybe even tell each other more

Meet me on the dock

By the old forgotten cove

I’ll keep the key

You keep the lock

And we’ll drift out to sea

Just you, all of our secrets, and me.
Drifting through this world
I can't help but feel alone,
will that ever stop?

I feel us drifting
Like the waves of the ocean
I'm lost at sea without you
But i just keep thinking
Life is like a rolling wheel
It keeps moving forward
