If this is what defines me

I
prefer
to
remain
without
definition.

I am not what you have made out of me in your head at 2 am when you were thinking about the very specific way I wear my heart on my sleeve. I'm not a fact that states that I'm a very expressive person. Trust me when I say you don't want to know how I would express my thoughts of you, so don't try to define my lines when they aren't very clear, not even to me.

Words
are like

impactful,
deep and
something
you never

You
YOU
pronoun | \’yu, yę also yē   \

Believing in god is not enough,
when I can question the universe,
as to why someone so magnificent
is right in front of my eyes?
You’re everything and more.
Often people say they're your friends out of kindness;
Something almost like duty,
So that you don't have to feel rejection
As long as you don't need it, possibly.

Not only do I wonder if I am a victim,
But I am half guilty of it.
You could say I have a high standard of what friendship means,
Although, once that I say it,
It often takes on that meaning.
I don't aspire to lie so I say it and then afterwards I mean it.

We could like each other,
And get along okay,
But unless you assure me it's safe to say,
Then I won't assume we are friends,
As this word can mean many different things.
If you ask of it as if you expect a yes, as long as it's not a sick joke,
I will then say yes and mean it,
Because some have higher classifications of friends than others,
But sometimes it's used more loosely:
People you talk to,
People you're very fond of,
Or people like family:
We mutually work it out together,
Between us, don't we?

The earth
Isn't round.
It has
Mountains
And hills,
Dips
And crevises.
It is not
Defined,
And neither
Are you.

Don't let the world define you by what they think they know. (Not a flat earth poem, i swear)

stop apologizing
stop apologizing for being yourself
stop apologizing for being sad sometimes
stop apologizing for the way you look
or act
or talk
or kiss
so look at me
up
blue to blue
and tell me you're not sorry.
not sorry for who you are
unapologetic in your beauty where hair falls on shoulders
next to a freckled face that resembles my vision of true art
you
you are what happens when the moon rises above the horizon
pushing and pulling the tides
like heart strings
mine stings at your absence.
the moon is not sorry.
it simply is
as you should be.
fractured during times but pieced together in the sky when together with the sun
it mimes to us
without words moving the planet ever so slightly
lightly kiss me under it
and stop
breathe.
stop apologizing.
be who you are.
bold, beautiful, smart, ****, cheeky, funny, loving, warm
these words and more, in my own mental dictionary have your face plastered permanently next to them
and so i understand these words not by definition
but by example.
but by you.

Sturdy
A house on a hill
With firm foundations
A treasure box for memories
A sanctuary when life chases after you

Unwavering
The winds hit hard
Yet the candle in the lighthouse does not flicker
To steer sailors away from the rocks
The flame is true
Guiding home those who are lost

Resolute
Determined to the end
A never faltering promise
To be there, no matter what it takes

Steadfast
I am for you
My love is true
My arms are open
And you will be accepted, no matter what
