love cripples the strong
and strengthens the *******
love fools the wise
and wisens the fool
love brings harmony to chaos
and chaos to harmony
love is balance

I fell in love with a girl in Canada.

Thanks for the salad at Capilano.
And thanks for knowing who Mac Demarco is.

Garrett Johnson.
It’s ******* Canada, who doesn’t know who Mac is.

her hands lost their balance.
an unnoticeable tremor
pumped through her fingers.
as she waited for him to arrive,
she wondered if the time apart
made him a foreign place.

when he finally arrived,
and important tales were shared,
and his smile lit up her heart,
her hands found their balance.
he felt like a home again,
even after all these years.

Not the stillness
but the never-ending motion
not on the head of a pin
but in base of the broad basin
not a perfect evenness
but the wealth of variance

Not two opposing pebbles
laid on a lever atop a pivot
not a balance
more
like a train car
arriving at the station
where people board and disembark
while their total never changes

Similarly
not good opposing evil
not black and white
or self against the other
more
the summation of the ins and outs
of all that simultaneously occur
when nothing ever happens

There are times in our life when things seem to tough
The climb is too hard and the going is rough

If you look up the hill and see the whole climb
It might be too steep and take too much time

It’s important to stay focused on staying upright
One pedal at a time will take you to heights

The fact that you’re there and giving it your all
So you know that you can, even if you fall...

This is inspired by a mountain bike ride I just finished from Telluride Co to Moab Ut...  200 miles and 16000 vertical of climbing...

I’d swim across the ocean for you.
And I’ve always loved this way.
But the difference is that before, every time, I would do it for someone who would stay dry, and comfortable, and let me be drenched by the storm in the sky. Less than crossing puddles, and less than even helping me cross it myself. I swam oceans for people who would ask me to carry them on my back while I did, eventually forcing me under and drowning me, knowing full well what they were doing. They would hardly cross a street for me.
But I will still swim oceans for you— and I am absolutely sure that you would for me too. So I’ll meet you in the middle.

Burning fire which blazed so bright
dimming down now, ashen.
Embers.
Forgiving.
Patient.
Latent energy spent to sustain a human.

I carry your spirit within flesh and thought.
Essence in paradox.

Water
gently explaining its journey from the sky.
Each drop a dance of pleasure and purpose.
Stopping to say hello;
sizzling, tapping craniums, returned.

All my friends are within me this night
and give:

stillness.

My light:
Dappled in the rearview mirror,
cracked at the surface.
I am bruised but not broken.
Scarred,
But i still have my  foundation.
Bruises they heal.
Scars they scab over.
Hearts torn apart,
But in heaven they’re woven.
crinkled skin wraps around the sunlight,
Fingernails kissing the moon.
The light is there i just have to dig farther,
The light is there,
It's you.

Do not over love others
because they will seek hate
When they seek hate...
they become one.
Keep it in balance. Secret of love.
