The Scarlet Bird, it calls to me,
The Scarlet Bird, I try to flee.
The Scarlet Bird, it wants me dead,
The Scarlet Bird, it's in my head.
The Scarlet Bird, it soars above,
The Scarlet Bird slays Hope and Love.
The Scarlet Bird, it's Fear and Hate,
The Scarlet Bird, it's Tears and Fate.
The Scarlet Bird, it's Cheats and Lies,
The Scarlet Bird, Earth slowly dies.
The Scarlet Bird, it's War and ****,
The Scarlet Bird, there's no escape.
The Scarlet Bird, we cannot hide,
The Scarlet Bird, it's now inside.
The Scarlet Bird, its eyes ablaze,
The Scarlet Bird, the End of days.
The Scarlet Bird, it marks our Doom,
The Scarlet Bird, our Scarlet Tomb.
Hello. Remember in my Bio how I said "Some of them are quite dark?" Yea, this is one of the ones I was referring to. I still hope you all like the writing. Please comment/critique etc. Thanks for reading :)

Scarlet grants me freedom
Scarlet grants me forgiveness
Scarlet breaks my tidal waves
Scarlet breaks my umbrella
Scarlet dances with superstition
Scarlet dances with her radiance
Scarlet opens her bloodshot eyes
Scarlet opens her lavender lips
Scarlet washes away my sand
Scarlet washes away to sea

Hester was imprisoned for her sin,
She had betrayed her own kin.
By ******* with a different man,
She ruined her family's master plan.

They could've lived peacefully in Boston,
If it wasn't for Hester's sin.
Now her husband wants pay back,
On the man who was with Hester in the sack.

While in prison Hester had a little girl,
She decided to call her Pearl.
As an added bonus she received a new family crest,
A scarlet letter for her breast.

As she walked out of jail,
Her life seemed to derail.
As the people in the crowd,
Mocked her with a tone so loud.

She stood on the scaffold so she could repent,
While the townspeople picked at her feelings like she was a dent.
Her husband manged to get into the crowd,
He put a finger to his lips for he was too proud.

When it was over Pearl and her went home,
To a cottage far away so they could be alone.
Hester tailored cloths to keep her family alive,
For in family values they were not deprived.

She decided she would still perform good deeds,
Helping the town's people with all there needs.
She beat the system with hard work and determination,
Even if her sin will send her to an eternity of damnation.

A scarlet letter "A",
To separate night from day,
To make Hester pay.
We'll see what society has to say,
Will spirit be broken, nay.

Her husband went to find the guy,
Who ****** his wife and denied.
He then got a patient for him to care for,
Arthur Dimmesdale, who was the *****.

Almost certain that he was the one,
The doctor had himself some vengeful fun.
He wanted the priest to feel his pain,
At this point the doctor is no longer sane.

He bombed his thoughts with mental missiles,
The words he said hurt like wild whistles.
The priest knew he needed to repent as well,
He tortured himself till blood was the only thing he could smell.

But that was not enough for the priest,
For the visions of his sin wouldn't cease.
So he stood on the scaffold so he could repent,
He screamed in the night but no one gave him their two cents.

Until his lover and daughter came to the scene,
And then something magical happened like it would in a dream.
A meteor flew down from the heavens and marked in the sky,
A letter "A" way up high.

The Priest and Hester deiced to meet,
In the forest in about a week.
They talked and made a plan,
To get out of this foreign land.

After the Priest's last speech,
The family would leave for an European beach.
But the doctor found this out,
And boarded a trip on the same route.

But before the family tried to leave,
The priest had some unfinished ends he needed to weave.
He ripped off his shirt and there on this chest,
A ****** scarlet "A" just like the one on Hester's breast.

A scarlet letter "A",
To separate night from day,
To make Arthur pay.
We'll see what society has to say,
Will faith be broken, nay.

The priest then died right there,
Giving all the town people a scare.
The doctor had never got his full pay pack,
The purpose of life, he now lacked.

Now for the good news you will hear,
The doctor died within the next year.
Pearl and Hester left that place,
And went back to their home base.

Pearl married a rich man,
Despite being the "devil's brand".
But as for Hester she had returned,
To the place that she yearned.

Back to Boston where she was labeled,
But this time the scarlet letter "A",
Didn't mean "Adulteress",
It meant "Able".

A scarlet letter "A",
To separate night from day,
To make Hester pay.
She changed what society had to say,
With her spirit, she had created her own way.
Basically a poem version of a summer reading book I had to read and pretty much my best byproduct of procrastination. All credit to the author and the story he told of course.
Captain Scarlet
Had a weakness for harlots
Who always wore scarlet as well.

This could sound
The death knell
For the show
Thundered Gerry.

It's so deleterious
I'm deadly serious
Less of the hoes
And more Thunderbirds Are Go.

Captain Scarlet's
Favourite starlet
However
Was no harlot
Even though
she always wore
Scarlet as well
But it was quite difficult to tell
That she was not so
Even if one was very clever.

Unlike Bobby Shafto.

Scarlet washes the water of translucency of feeling
Scarlet makes the numb feel
Scarlet infers you have the control
Scarlet may be a accident or the purpose
Scarlet can be a red haring of life
Scarlet can also be a start of a new reliability
But dare you not scarlet is inside along with other feelings

I peeked in and on her bed in gay profusion lying there.
Lovely ribbons, scarlet ribbons, scarlet ribbons for her hair.

Moonbeams pierced the silent night.
polished her brush bronze cheeks. the ghost of a smile
quivered  her mouth.slowly her lips parted and she said a name . whispered.
still asleep in a dream.

(please lord let me go ahead when we part. What would my purpose be after)

I knew it just then that to live without her would be my hell and so
I laid awake savoring every minute the rise and fall of her chest.Burning
Burning her into my fiber .Laid quietly beside her .
Cursed my mortality.

Scarlet ribbons, lovely ribbons for her hair.
If I live to be one hundred.I will never know from where
Came those ribbons, scarlet ribbons.Scarlet ribbons for her hair.

Lovely ribbons, scarlet ribbons,Scarlet ribbons for her hair.
I will never know from where.
The first two lines are the words from a song that I would hear on the radio as a boy.Usually at night as I sat on our front porch by the sea. It has haunted me. It still does. Harry Belafonte.

A scarlet sky besets the realm around me
Welcoming my existence to the plateau of life which I sought with great determination
Scarlet leaves dexterously fall to the floor with nimble grace
The cries of angelic beings invigorate my ears
I can only see their scarlet eyes as they observe me from the heavens above
And her scarlet hair which was more refined than honored silk itself
Swings in the wind as she faces me with a curious look of inquisition
The wind caresses her scarlet dress causing it to dance with a rhapsody of acceptance
Her gentle aura rivets our actuality as she extends her hand to me
Her dominion is now the reality in which I lie dormant
For the longest time, all I saw was red.

When I die,
Leave your sorrows at home,
Wear your scarlet dress,
Meet me at the place where we met.
Not for the first time,
But where we really met.
Where I fell in love with you.
Hold your red rose in hand.
Summon me unto the promise land.

When you feel alone,
Just put on your scarlet dress.
And know that I am there,
Staring at you with yearning in my eyes,
As I did in my time with you.

Eventually,
Let the red morph to your skin,
And know its my fingers
Flowing throw your hair,
That most would mistake for the wind.

Let the scarlet bleed into your heart,
Not from it.
So that I may inhabit the only place,
That I could have described as heaven.

Promise me that you'll wear your scarlet,
When summer ends,
So that when fall arrives,
The scarlet will come alive in the trees,
And I can be with you,
As long as you take the time,
To admire the beauty of the changing leaves,
As I had many autumns ago.
"It is said that if a woman wears a scarlet dress to a cemetery, it can attract the spirit of a lover that has passed." This is unfinished.

We all have a scarlet letter
Blazing within our chest.

Some make no attempt to hide it;
Others conceal it best.

I look at some people
And I see their scarlet letter-
And I judge.

I look at the adulteress
And I scorn her-
But I've done the same
Anytime I look for peace
From anywhere but my Lord.

I look at the drunk
And I am disgusted-
But I sin all the same,
Albeit a different way.

I look at the temptress
And I am reviled-
But how many times
Have I played the
Same game?

I look at the sinners-
But I'm really looking
In the mirror-
And I judge them-
But I'm really judging me.

I look at the atheist
And say "How could he
Believe that?"-
But when I live
In sin
And rebellion,
I am showing atheism
Incarnate.

I had a scarlet letter
Blazing on my chest-
I made every attempt to hide it
And save my wounded pride.

But then one day
I met the Savior
And He took my scarlet letter
And placed it on His back-
Now I'm a scarlet debtor
And my letter
Is my past.
