I want to write a happy poem
I truly do

But when I write
I let it pour straight
From my soul
To the paper

And happiness
You see,
Is something
My soul doesn't
Even remember

I want to write a happy poem
Honest

I've tried
And tried
But every time
They've ended up
In the trash

I want to write a happy poem
I really do

But apparently,
You need to be happy
To share
Happiness

Which means
All I can spread
Is sadness

In contrast to my heart —
The days are warm
Sunrays wreak kind destruction
Upon just and unjust
Without favour
          or consideration.

The sickly light bathes us all
Without mercy
Exposing those
         who wish to remain hidden.

Winter in my heart, Summer eternally.

We see things differently.
With the stars blinding my eyes,
and the color of the sky
fading from yours;
we are distant universes.

You are like the ocean
Your personality is a mix of
   turquoise, indigo, and blue.
One minute you are calm
The next you are in rage.
Today you are happy,
Tomorrow you are sad.

I want to be your sunrise,
Each and every day is a new
   beginning
I want to be your sunset,
Each and every night is the ending to
   all your sadness.

If you could just let me enter in your
   life
I could help you catch the stars
Drink them in little cups,
We'll sparkle in the night.
