I seek Justice
And I'm cast down in the shadow
Of my own imperfections.

I try to be humble
And I'm seen as coward who
Only acts towards their own ends.

I'll defend the weak
But then I'm demonized for
Being the one to take things too far

I cry out for help
Yet, even those closest to me are
Unable to recognize when I'm suffering.

I give what I can
But when I take for myself to
Keep myself sain, I'm being selfish.

I call out to God
But demons have always been
Better at getting the job done.

thats how it used to be
just like how my love used to be for you
now its just a afterimage of what used to be
tattoos are permanent
they hurt, they mean something, and —

just like how my love used to be for you

tattoos were permanent
thats how it is now
just like my love for you
not present tense but the past
were
just like how you were playing with those
other girls
were
just like how you played with me
my heart and my feelings are up to date
presently, the past is the past

they hurt, they mean something, and —
i mean that’s how it was for me
If you don’t write it,
It won’t come.
That spark of madness
Devoid of need for the tongue.
If you don’t write it,
It won’t come.
That hidden power in your tone
To bring you visions into the world,
A form of alchemy that pales to none.
If you don’t write it,
It won’t come.
That jewel in your belly that glows brightly
That seeks to find you day and nightly.
If you don’t write it,
It won’t come.
The spark that you find,
The visions you define,
The power you cannot hide.
If you write it,
It will come.

By manufactured impracticability,
The made up mountain set before the children of state,
Sacrificed to the demon of abandonment,
Left behind, cursed by the  misfortune of birth.
Young and talented Nigerians are sadly impoverished by the simple reason of being Nigerians.
Just when you think you've seen a spacecraft
an aircraft flies overhead.

It was good while it lasted
I tasted excitement,

achievement?
not really.
Now
had it been an alien ship that slipped in
under the radar I'd have been famous, but it was an aircraft and they just laughed at me.

I know they're up there
orbiting
waiting to drop
and who's going to stop them little
green men?

The question arises,
if
they're aliens to us and we're aliens to them
wouldn't that make us all aliens?

It could be that we are,
that we came in from an
exploding star,
but then we'd be supermen,
a bit
like superman but more than
one of them.

My eyes are glued to the telescope
in the hope I can see them before they see me.
We who have touched the heights of ecstasy,
See fantasies become reality,
Swimming out to sea as far as we dare,
Have to experience the depths of despair,
Living on the edge of a nightmare,
Not knowing what can be lurking there.

Such is our lot – the souls that climb the heights!
Shall we call it a blessing or a blight?
Living near the edge of insanity…
Joy is heaven – sorrow the bitter sea.
Between ecstasy and agony,
Our dreams become our reality.
Why
Why can't I seem to ever be enough?
You tell me I'm wonderful, smart, beautiful, caring,
but then you turn around and act like we never had a thing
that we didn’t run away into the night full of adventures and wonder...
I wonder..
Was it ever real to you?
"where it stops nobody knows"

Just a few words connect
threads of thought
in a passing moment

A fray dangles
by a strand of fiber
— a conspicuous
   temptation—
an interesting
thread to pull:

    If it begins to unravel,..
it just might not stop
until the tapestry
is a tangled ***
of unspooled thread
