Loving you is like watching my own blood run down my arms and screaming 'it doesn't hurt'

I used to be a bird.
I flew high up in the skies.
Raced the sunrise,
Floated through the starry nights.
Flew above the ocean
With my wings expanded.
I was a majestic creature.
It was a beautiful life,
Until the day
You broke my wings
And I forgot how to fly.
Maybe I don't understand
the Laws of Physics or
Stellar evolution,
but I know that
your atoms are composed of stardust
Maybe this is why the life in your eyes
is illuminating everything like a carbon giant.

In astronomy they told us
that the darkest parts of space
often contain the most energy
And I thought you should know,
that just like the ancient galaxies inside of you,
your darkest parts still shine.

I could write a poem
to tell you,
but you still would be
to ******* closed minded
to differentiate my words
from my left *** cheek.

love me
you wanted to know the real me
i revealed my self
i broke down my walls
just. for. you.
you weren't expecting me to be there
yet there i was

you looked at me with disgust
you put me to shame

i stood there revealed
you pushed me
and i fell
down in a cold ***** well
helpless
hopeless
cold
lonely
only you can save me now

I think I know why you ran...
I remember sitting at your kitchen table
Confessing how I wanted to see your face
When you are older
When laugh lines have carved it and silver has touched your hair.
And you said
Quietly
That you didn't know if you would live that long.
I understood what you meant
And I took your face in my hands and kissed you
And I never thought to tell you-
I thought you knew-
That I would rather spend a year with you
Than the rest of my life with anyone else.
