On the skywalk

I saw
Two men greet
Each other with smiles
On the crosswalk

I saw
A young man and young woman
Holding hands
On the sidewalk

I saw
An old man
Cradling a baby girl
On the boardwalk

I broke
From my pause
On the skywalk

Jennifer
a delicate white rose,
sweet and lonely and
upon it, a butterfly
so fragile and light;
but when will it take flight?
when will it take flight?

ocean waves close to shore,
sand and water entwined
in loving embrace,
earthly beauty skin to skin;
but when will the tide go in?
when will the tide go in?

a passionate fire, spitting and
pouncing, rustled by a breeze,
kissed gently by the air,
the love between them devout;
but when will it die out?
when will it die out?
Right now, if you're feeling devoured by pain,
Remember that there was a drop of rain.
And because of this rain, a flower grows
And because of that flower, a girl's smile glows.
And because of that smile, a kiss is shared.
And because of that kiss, a bond is repaired.
And because of that bond, a new life comes to be.
And because of that life, this poem you see.
Because of this poem, I hope you feel warm
And know that I'm so very glad you were born.
In fact, I would love to come hug you, my Dear.
Please know that I'm so very glad that you're here. 💖
Today was a really good day. First good day in a long, long time. I hope you are well, and I wish you a wonderful day too. <3

anon
him,
with his hard set mouth
and his innocuous horns.
those deep dark eyes
juxtaposing the soft planes of his form.
unreadable,
yet open to the touch.
he treads on clear water with a vindictive strut
to reach no destination;
aimless.
an inner self personified.
as we
watched
the
lazy
sunset
and
close both
her eyes
while
love buzzed
and
burned
holes
straight
through
our
rice paper skin

almost

almost is the saddest word there can be.

"he almost fell in love with me."
"we were almost together."
"i was almost good enough."

when you expect something to happen but it slips out of your reach just like that and it never comes back.
Like a drunk in a desert ,

Like a pig flying ,

Like a doomsday prophet,

I am waiting
for a kiss
that will not come
The
ugly truth
is that our
flaws
are what truly
make us
beautiful.
