When I write about you
In too much detail
I erase it
Because you on paper is good
But you in person is better
How do I capture that
Without giving you away
Because I have made you mine
And I want you to stay
I just want you
to be happy
but sometimes
and selfishly
I want to be
your happiness

But
'happiness is a choice'
you say
and you didn't choose me

I clung onto the idea
since you made me happy
it would be the same for you

What is happiness now?
where has it gone to?
In time, society has robbed us
the real meaning of happiness

Go on your own way
and pursue your happiness
for your smile, is my smile
your laugh, is my laugh

and I'll be happy
when you find your happiness
because I love you
always have, always will

Love
I'm the *****,
the quiet girl in the front of the class,
according to the handicap stall in the upstairs boys bathroom, a ****.
I love, and when I do I love to no ends.
But you'd never know how much this ***** loves, because there is no love shown.

Italic words are words I need more of a reminder on.
I encourage all of you to choose a positive word (or multiple) from each letter of the alphabet and write it down. Remind yourself every day what a remarkable person you are.
Love yourself. <3

*Agh, didn't get on all day today, but came home to find that this was selected as poem of the day and am so flattered and honored. Thank you so much to everyone for the kind comments. I'm so glad you all liked it. <3
Sniffing powdered white off my nannas vintage mirror
My inheritance,
My dignity gone
Nannas old, she's dying
Told me stories about the fairies in her head
Dancing her to sleep each night
Would dance upon my head ....
The world is like a bubble.
Floating,
barley on the edge,
ready to pop,
at any moment.
Make the world a better place.
I stare out of my warm sunlit window
Watching the solitary tree stand alone
Incredibly tall and fully grown
Only dancing in the wind with its leaves
So majestic, so at peace
The way the leaves move in such sweet relief

When the seasons change and the leaves start to fall
They begin to change colors and dwindle to to the lawn
I only ever admire from afar
For I am jealous of the lonesome tree
That stands proud and tall

When the tree is ready it says goodbye
The leaves start to change colors and begin to die
They fall with ease and grace
Ready for their fate
How does the tree just let go
Of something it's held onto for so long?
How does it part ways with something
That's grown into it's soul?

I wish I was like the lonely tree
I wish I stood noble and free
Effortless beauty and strength above all
Nevermore feeling small
Able to surrender my demons in a blink of an eye
Never questioning or asking why
Firm and notable
Never used as somebody's pawn
*If only I could be like the lonesome tree in my front lawn
Show me your flaws and I'll show you mine,
The moment is raw and I won't decline,
The chance to be open,
The chance to be kind,
A finger to my lips
To hush words I can't find,
Scars don't determine
Your final appearance,
Nor is perfection
Your final endearment.

I have wounds of my own
But alas you can't see,
Echoes of war that
Ripple through me,
Deep beneath skin
And deep beneath veins,
Tucked away safely
In the confines of a brain,
Kept in a box wrapped in a ribbon,
Collecting dust and carefully hidden,
Away from hands that try to pry,
Scratching at surfaces try after try,
Scrounching for scraps and forever hoping,
That pandora's box will finally be opened
