This early evening
I witnessed the cosmos set,
not only the sun.

I worry for you, my friend.

You look at the colors
With stars in your eyes,
But you still haven't embraced death
As a part of our lives

You push the happiness
With such certainty
But you forget that darkness
Is also a part of reality

I worry that you have forced
Your contentment too much
And once the high is gone
You will fall and crash

*And I'm not sure if I will be there to catch you.
our realities differ, but I am always here for you
you just have to let me in
before it's too late

It is tragic that the young doesn't know
what it's like to be old.

But it is even more so tragic when the old forgets
what it's like to be young.

It's like when you can't tell
if a light is on or
it's just reflecting off another source

For some,
Death's a doorway;
For others,
It's a lid.

I woke up this morning
With a smile on my face

I woke up this morning
So my smile can't be erased

Somebody didn't wake up this morning
I can hear there family weeping

Somebody didn't wanna wake up this morning
smiling to get through their  bleeding

I remember not wanting to wake up
In the morning
Hoping the pills would
Take me away
Caught up in the Rapture
Now  I'm free I wanna stay

I wanted to wake up this morning
I got a 2nd chance
To live in my freedom
Smiling while I dance

I need
Some Me-time.
So, I must
Turn this off,
And this,
This too,
This as well,
And this, and this...
And the TV.
And finally,
The light.

The question was raised
In the morning sun;
The coffee was on.
I remember.

The window over the sink
Was open, the curtains flapped
In your face.
You remember.

I saw the fine hairs
Through your sleeves,
Same as you,
I was teased.
We remember.

You asked if I was leaving:
The answer given
Seemed to please.
You remember.
I remember.
The pets remember.
My universe won't
Let me forget.

We wrapped-up
In our arms;
Turned off the coffee,
Re-set the alarm.
