This is a poem for you
Wherever you are.

But you didn't like poetry
Music was your thing.
When you played it so loudly
I didn't listen.
"Music's not for me" I said.

"Anything you can do I can do better"
That was our discord
And also our harmony
Binding us close.

Now as I listen to your old CDs
I drink the wine
And weep:

For me
For you...
Wherever you are.

I talked to a little girl today,
I have four cats,
She told me.
She was so excited.
It wasn't anything new,
But to her,
It was the best thing in the world,
No matter how old
Or new
The news is.

I talked to a little girl today.
"My mom's on a diet,
But she doesn't need to be."
She said.
"Why?"
I ask.
"She just should smile more,
That makes you healthier,
Right?"

I talked to a little girl today,
I showed her a young leaf.
She was so excited.
"It's a baby!"
She cried
In joy.
To her,
The world was so amazing.

I talked to a little girl today.
She taught me much more,
Than I ever taught her.
Maybe we should listen,
To sweet innocence,
Not yet hurt by the world.

Maybe then,
We would be in a better place.

i fill myself up with liquor
only to find that i'm still empty.
people fill me up with expectations & every time they fail
they pour a portion of my soul out into the gutter
& i'm still empty.
lovers pursue me with sweet words & fill me up with dreams of a perfect romance & when it ends my heart breaks, spilling out the few drops left of my soul,
making me emptier than before.
i nourish friendships using the substance from my soul
only to watch them dwindle & die leaving my soul substance-less
& i'm still empty.
i write this poem with the hope that maybe, just maybe it can make me feel whole again but
i'm still empty.

We could have been better- if you chose me than her.
We could have been stronger- if you chose to hold on.
We could have been happier- if you loved me forever.

But,

You had the best.

Noah and his family were the only people on Earth who were doing right.
So God caused a flood that killed everybody in 40 days and 40 nights.
All of the people on Earth were evil, it was a time that was dark.
Noah and his family were spared when God told them to build an ark.

God told Noah to take two of every animal so that all species would survive.
When the flood was over, Noah and his family were the only people who were alive.
It probably wasn't an easy decision when God decided to **** all of those women and men.
He gave us the rainbow which is a promise that he'll never do it again.

Facebook- deal with all of your friends drama that's none of your business
Twitter- read about all the pointless things that celebrities have to say
Instagram- look at all these foods that look amazing but you know you'll never get
Vine- watch people be ******* and post videos to prove their stupidity
Pinterest- scroll through fantastic DIY projects that aren't as easy as they say

But there is one different from the others...

Hellopoetry- read things that are influential,
       they affect you in a way that you never thought was possible
       and it is all in a good way
read beautiful scriptures that actually stand for something
nonsense doesn't exist on hellopoetry
just honest feelings that make you want
to relax, enjoy, and just read

something are meant to let go. even if it's hard we just have to just like our past. past plays a big part in our life if there's no past there will be no today and if there no today there will be no future. past holds a big part in life, it leads us to today and the future
