since lies are sweet
and the truth is bitter
i'm not surprised
i liked you better
The streets are bare as
the cherry blossoms still bloom.
Life will carry on.

A walk in the woods
will still be enjoyable,
while six feet apart.

Slow down and observe
the beat of nature, for it
is good for the soul.
Three Haikus I wrote because I was inspired during these crazy times
Your value does not depreciate
with time- rather
I thirst for
more of
you,
you

I will dance
And I will spin
Until the room blurs
And the lightless gaps
Between swaying bodies
Absorb my ache
And longing

I will twist
And I will wring
Dizzily releasing
Whatever still clings
To my depleting soul
And replace it with champagne

And I will dance

you get a call
it’s too early
but too late all at once

you get a call
it is after midnight
he has the bottle in hand

you get a call
it is early morning
the pills are down his throat

you get a call
it’s one am
he tells you not to worry

you get a call
you don’t know how to feel
he says he’s done the bottle
(you don’t know if he means the pills or the water)

you get a call
you don’t know what to do

you get a call
it ends too soon
based off the time when my friend called me during a suicide attempt
Somewhere the sun is setting
In your tired eyes

Somewhere a cool breeze carries
Songs of changing times

Somewhere you're getting by,
Flushed with words of wine,

Somewhere a fool laments
That he never called you "mine"

Love didn't end wars
It started them
The thing about masks is that someone always sees the string behind your head.
