A mere bite won’t satiate the shadow.
The smallest morsel can’t fill its appetite.
The hunger never ends and we’re precisely what it craves.
We shed a tear, the shadow sets the table.
We clench our fists; the shadow grips a fork.
We cower in fear; the shadow licks its lips …
Our dreams go great with wine,
and our hope is picked by toothpicks.
A portion of you is never enough.
It wants to pick you apart
piece by piece,
and leave your bones for the
dogs at his feet.

SweetChaos
I may be going to hell,
But don't worry about me.

I'm probably going to hell,
But, I'll have lots of company.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to hell.
The end of my life will not be signaled by the sound of a golden bell.
The life I swore I'd never live has taken its toll.
My halo has been pawned,
And my wings are broke.
Not even the church could save my soul.

And if by chance,
I do make it to the promised land,
Those golden, glowing gates would never let me in.

Heaven is where everyone wants to go,
But some of us are destined to end up down below.
The bones in your body will lay to rest
After your blood runs cold,
Trapped beneath your skin,
Leaving you frozen within yourself.
The stories and memories that once were of you,
Forgotten in the pages as they burn in a white fire
From the deepest, depths of hell.
Your name will be but a shadow of time,
Time lost in eternity to never return.
Until your soul rises,
You shall be never more than a body lost in earth,
Where the flames grow stronger
And your spirit becomes weaker,
Longing for it's desperate escape.

Dead Lock
I didn't fall from heaven, dear boy

I crawled strait from hell

Where all of the wingless angels

Empty shotgun shells
Holding his hand was like a prayer
and when we kissed I finally saw God
but no amount of getting on my knees could stop Hell from clutching it's burning hands to my throat and no volume of screaming could lead to my salvation.

I tell myself it must have been the devil telling him to love her
instead of me,
but that won't change the fact that you never were my Heaven.

I'll come to you on bended knee
Asking you to marry me
In my front pocket will be the ring
While from behind the choir will sing

Then to you I'll hold out my hand
Taking yours into it and
Slipping on your finger the golden band
Committing my love for you to always last

We'll find a cottage by the sea
Where our love will never leave
As it blooms into a family
Where all we'll have is all we'll need

As our love grows from young to old
We'll sit back to its stories told
With the fact there's still more to know
As our love continues to grow

And all because of this bended knee
When I asked you to marry me
Where my front pocket held the marriage ring
While from behind the choir did sing
I can't take back
The words I never said
Because they stay on my tongue
Like liquor on a alcoholics breath
