The Eagle's wing gives us feathers supreme
Stroked against the face
Such a loving grace

The Owl's wing gives us knowledge best
Touching breast
Makes the ******* stand up to test

A Falcon's feather slim and fast
Teases the senses of all the lass
Stroked between the legs
And the young girl begs

And the sauge goes on

A Mockingbird's feathers
Between the toes
And soon soothing giggles
Just explode

Then twisting behind the knees
Oh mercy !
Only if you please

But the Dove's feather
upon the eyelids
Such pleasure !
Dreams are made of these

Now the pinpoint of any quill
Repetitiously pointed at will
Makes then shudder
before they squeal

And that is how you make
A Bird of Paradise
Shake , quiver , and utterly
Entices her will
He's a feminist ****
or least
he said he wants to be
Wearing rubber latex shorts
with a matching vest
holes cut out for his flabby breast
He has his whip
he cracks their ***
and they jump
before he blasts
.
Fifty years ago
to the month
that they laid
you in the ground

.
Only now
have I found
the words
to make a sound

.
You came home
closed coffin bound
Not suitable
to be viewed

.
Only now do I frown
Thinking about
the name in stone
that's hewed

.
That day you died
I was left to cry
I didn't know
what to do

.
Two teenage lives
both said goodbye
never
to be again

.
One under
21 gun salute
The other
under pain

.
They are
still burying you
in my mind
my time has been unkind

.
I've lived through
a thousand deaths
looking for reasons
to find

.
Resigned
I am bound
by the truth

I'm finding there is no peace
Nothing more than simple grief
I'm climbing up a rocking wall
Knowing it's a certain fall
I'm scratching a brick wall with fingernails
Digging blacken tunnels down to Hell

So where do I choose to stand ?
On the blood from my evil hands ?
What do I have to say ?
While the truth quietly slips away

Hey ! Hey ! Hey ! Hey !

So before the moments of sun arise
Before I put on the mask of my disguise
Before I set out on my day
I stop for a second so I may pray

Hey ! Hey ! Hey ! Hey !

And in the center of my mind
I'm still hoping I will find
Looking all around I feel
That someday I surely will
I have fire inside my bones
It burns like red hot stones
It is as wicked as glittering gold
I am ****** sober cold

I breathe the breath of fire
I take liberty with desire
I singe everything touched
Overheat your slipping clutch

My heart turns molten steel
Poured out into my will
My footsteps leave a smoking trail
As I tread back home to Hell
You always had that fire
burning in your eyes
Life's force flowed
through your veins
So vibrant , so alive

You had a laugh
that rocked the boat
You made the difficult
into a joke

So I was unprepared
to find you there
Laying still as if asleep

I studied every wrinkle
upon your face
But I could find no trace
of the you
I used to know

I sighed
with the loss of an age
I had come to find
the very last page

Peace was so unbefitting
of the manor I knew
You would be so
unapproving of the show

I came to say goodbye
but you were not there
Instead I found you
in the sunset of my dreams
that night when I looked
up into the stars
The fix fluctuated
like a butterfly
on acid

Every word a demonstration
of the vunerability
of flesh

Come Fix all our world of longings
Dedicated to the HP Poet Fix
A mausoleum of pain
sealed for perpetuity
hidden behind the eyes
in chains of DNA burn the slow after effects fueled by  choices made in ignorance

Once upon the road
of infamy , in the footsteps made in sacred dust , millions of years beyond and older than the thirst for knowledge that you choke on . . . you've become consumed in flames ; illumimating the path before you as you go , so you don't stumble over the errors of the past and fall into the future upon the stakes of fallacy
Step away from the window
Or you may get hit and die
From the lead bullets
Of a car passing by

Don't drink city water
It's full of poisonious lead
Don't trust the governor
when he says it won't mess with your head

So he was bullied
One day after school
Drug  into the alley
His funeral was cool

Stopped because your
Left turn signal was out
Beaten and shot
Because there was some doubt

There is no North side
South side , East or west
It's all no man's land
Don't be foolish and second guess
His thoughts chiseled
with no disgrace
Despite the humiliation
he stands his place
His face like flint
sheds sparks when struck
His choice to be here
was not by luck
Where will I be
in the end ?
Helplessly tethered
to lands end ?

My spirit yearns
to soar
To rise above
the shore

Not to be
bound down
Like a clown's
frown

Beauty as always
costs truth
As old age
steals youth

Fly like a feather
on eternal winds
Pray now that the journey
never ends
There is a difference between
God working through you
And you working God
Upon someone else
Only fools
can be fooled

Everyone has time
But few
can recognize "The" Time

All things are made
manifest by light

The night will shine like the day , for darkness is as light to you (Psalm 139:12)
Fools make
monkeys smart
When you spell it out
there's only two zeros
found between the ends
I watch you dreaming
As I stand in the balcony door
Under sadness and moonlight
With wind caressing my thoughts

How lucky to have your love
But for how long ?
For today and tomorrow's
I dream of more

The clouds are silent in their disguise
They choke the moon's response
I long for a love always to be here
My love aches in the heart for you

I could stay and watch forever
Such pure peace generates
I have loved before
But not like this

Diamonds crumble perpetually
There is no eternity
But I want something . . .
Something so much more

I watch you sleeping
Our lives just fleeting
I want your love above all
Just a little longer than forever
For I no longer find favor
In your exclusionary arms
No longer embrace the warmth nor kindness
You come lacking all your charms

The eyes have all turned inward
They gaze upon your wall
You have pulled the curtains
Now I feel like Adam after he had made the fall

I am the seed that was turned to grist
By the grinding of your wheel
For I see , I feel , and taste
Your ever consummating will

I was raised a tumble ****
in death was I set free
To roam the plains of noncompliance
by the fickle winds that be

Every day a broken branch
Rounded out in form
Everyday another chance
Was I only to be scorned ?

So I choke on the dust of life
No waters near nor far
Forever will I remember
the child . . .

Sleeping . . .

in the rear window of the car
I came to where the road divides
I wondered which way I was to go
Then something shiny caught my eye
It was a silver fork and I said ** !
Perhaps a little on up above
A spoon or knife will lay way lade
And I can find it before the flood
And if I do my day is made
Now if only I had some marmalade

A truck driver told me always go to the right
Never make the mistake of turning left
Wouldn't that always be driving in circles
He said that's the meaning of life

So I threw the fork back on the road
And took the left fork full of toad(s)
See all that glitters is broken glass
Ask Cleopatra and her asp
What the frog ?
I came to a fork in the road
and I got spooned .
I was three , no bigger than a west Texas tumbleweed . . . just three .

My mother hung the wash out on the line
and wiped the sweat off her brow with her hand .
Half an hour later the clothes were frozen .
Blue Norther . . . you can see them coming
a hundred miles away .
Wichita Falls , Texas . . . on the Wichita river .

Moses sat on a mountaintop gazing at the promised land but it was out of his hands now .
Leaning on his staff , the one that ate the Pharoh's two serpents . . . sssssssilently a single tear falls to the ground .

No fence could hold me . . . I was over or under in seconds .
A terror at three , a potential runaway .
The police knew me by first name  . . . just three .
The plains of North Texas , jackrabbits , coyotes , rattlesnakes and all . . . were home .

Forty years of desert wilderness ,
till the last man , woman , and child of Egyptian connection had died ,
. . . . . . was such a sacrifice made . . . . . .
Moses was the last to fall .
On a mountaintop of no consequences .

      "Run Rabbit Run"
I used to go to the Bryce Hospital cemetery
at night and sit on a tombstone overlooking the Black Warrior River .
I used to talk to the dead but I gave it up after none of them answered back .
Still I was at ease there in the dark amongst their remains . I had no fears , no worries , no thought of tomorrow . Just a gentle touch of acceptance . I guess you could call it peace .
Just a crack in the brick wall
A red rubber ball
The last time you can't remember
When you stood tall

The monotonous hologram
The seaside hotdog stand
The regrets piled higher
than any mountain can

Four stringed guitar
Home in an abandoned  car
Courage in a bottle
Wishing still on the first star

Still he caresses the neck
Presses down the frets
Sings three octave blues
On life's reef of wrecks

He's free lost in the chords
The music opens doors
The pathway is as bleak as sin
While inside he reaches for more

He goes off to sleep
He has his dreams deep
About a paradise for losers
And a five string guitar
....There were six
             then five
            then four

    Now in silence
       after the war
  that no one won

I listen to the symphony
    of failed angels
         of how they
were underscored

Trust in meaningless man
not a God thought
     of fearing man

Out of tune , out of key
             hums the
  cherished sound
       of disarryied
          dissonance

The caked dried blood
     flowing inside
            our viens
       powder puff
                breath

With all that was made
     fold and press
put up and away

It's just a paper cut
               but the
Drip , Drip , Drip
          becomes a
               Sunday
             sacrifice
once upon :
Those eyes so teary
Once they loved one
so sincerely
But fairy tales
they will fracture
And love lost
is in it's nature
Broken hearts
leave crumbling memories
Nothing then
can be please me's
Blood turns cold
in the wind
Here's to broken hearts
that never mend
The old man fell
to his knees
with no hopes
to rise again

there he
sank into his dreams
upon the desert floor
of his youth

Where in the absense
of abundance
throughout a lifetime
nothing grew

All the poets tell
of the glory
of his youth
But like
all great stories go
there comes
the time of bitter truth ,

"No one heard
his dying words."

I lay on my bed
of "Noche negra" desires
and out of kindness
I imagine
the way that
I wanted it to be
Not the way it was

Now somewhere
in the shadows of
Mexico
In the desiccating
Texas heat
lay the bones
in memoriam

Too big for
a monument
Too forgotten
to cenotaph
rest the bones
of immortal time
Blasted
by persistent winds
Bleached
by unforgiving sun
his soul rests
Clean and free
Freeborn ?
Nay ! Born in *******
to the wiles of life
in ways we need to understand .

Only rebel
against the iniquities we bear
as scars across our mental backs .

Freedom is at best
a dream that's dreamed
in the solitude
of howling winds
"as the times they are a'changing"
but never really does
The freedom of a sparrow
is the air under it's wings
The freedom of the wild horse
is the plains that recede
The freedom of a choice
is the choice not made
The freedom of love
is knowing you had no more to give

Winter is ending
and I am looking ahead
Even when winter has
one foot in the grave
It's not to be a stave

A sparrow without love
is a bird without feathers . . .
and cannot fly

A wild horse without love
is a horse without a plain . . .
and cannot run

A choice made without love is recklass
and bound to be wrong

Love knowing you held back
leaves you little to hang on
The freedom of a sparrow
is the air under it's wings
The freedom of the wild horse
is the plains that recede
The freedom of a choice
is the choice not made
The freedom of love
is knowing you had no more to give

Winter is ending
and I am looking ahead
Even when winter has
one foot in the grave
It's not to be a stave

A sparrow without love
is a bird without feathers . . .
and cannot fly

A wild horse without love
is a horse without a plain . . .
and cannot run

A choice made without love is reckless
and bound to be wrong

Love , knowing you held back ,
leaves you little to hang on
Friends are like a bloodhound that sniffs your crotch then ****** on your leg
Let them wear
the fear
upon their backs
Like over mountain laid
railroad tracks
Catch cans
crashing through
the public gate
A whipping post
upon the backs
of the people's fate
I beg you not
to flee your shame
Instead you must
face the pain

The pain !
That's all's remains
As you swallow hard
all their flames
Your soul as scorched
as Hell beneath
To whom do you
your soul bequeath
I marvel at the cracks
called life
Hogs will wallow in their strife
Watch your steps
and mother's back
Something about you
is just not tight
Did I say
I love you . . . (no)

Not even from the
highest low ?
Nor from the
lowest high ?

My love is running up the hill
A wolf sleeping in the grass
A silver stream running fast in dreams
A piano in pain

I hear the hounds of love
The clicks of red shoes
The exhalation of locomotive breath
In the winter's gale

Only one way out
can't walk out the door
Eleanor Rigby
Elizabeth Reed
They don't exist anymore
Who bent back the bow of decissions
Who ravaged the ghost inside
Who stole the lights of the moon's provisions
Turned it to purple that became the haze of all our daze

Who served the seas of tossed desire
Forcing the pulse of hosts ?
Was it one "Running Up the Hill?"
Against the "Valley of the Ghosts?"

Under the midnight's auroras
As magnetic as they be
Through all the eyes of the orcas
The walrus pleads petals of ice
Won't you just ,"Let it Be!"
"Running up the Hill" -  song by Kate Bush

"Valley of Ghosts" - Hanging stone , Mexico

Let It Be - song by the Beatles

Purple Haze - LSD
Kisses are live coals
Hugs and tugs and
squeezes are part of the
anticipated goals
Flesh upon flesh ;
extends the exhilaration
Tongues duel for supremacy ; thrusting
in *******
without a doubt of the efficacy
We live dangerously as the gasoline of love
With sparks of anticipation
bursting into flames
that shoot high above
We are consumed
in heat
becoming the orange tinged ashes
cooled by tears
as Angels weep
I gate the desires
like veins does blood
As my temptress
bolds my love

Cheeks talk white
Tongues see thin
I kiss the dreams
And plush my sin

The seven truths
A bridge to burn
I kiss your soil
I parch your fern

I steal your breath
Amp your light
I'm shadow between
Silk and night

I am the art
Within your book
I am the castle
To your rook

The calyx face
So bee Devine
I make honey
One kiss a time
Amethyst ,
Greek for not intoxicated
A gemstone of violet colored quartz
once believed provided protection
against becoming intoxicated

Black Butterfly , a book about transformation and rebirth after death
But I don't know where the stripper
drama comes in
The rest is life ,
compartmentalized
into daily drudge

Oh , but for the last dregs
of glory
at the bottom
of the bottle of life

The electric breath that once
activated every nerve cell
of your being
into ecstacy
has become a distant emoticon
that was once closer
than shadow thin
But now has become the one
living in a graveyard
with hopes
of raising dead dreams
I read the news today
. . . . . . (oh boy) . . . . . .
about a lucky man who made the grade . . .

Isn't It A Pity . . .

Hey Jude you can Let It Be

Come tear down these Walls and Bridges

This city of Steel and Glass

Just Imagine how it could be

Well Here Comes The Sun

But he is whispering Don't Let Me Down

Something , In My Life

Within you , Without You

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Love Is All You Need
to conquer Yesterday

Says My Sweet Lord
I used to walk over my emotions
in the rain , sometimes the snow
Still I just don't know
   where the nighthawks go

Flying high , diving low

I used to walk in the night
Alone , unafraid where the red lights
turn green through the alleys

Once again past the gates made of tin

I turn thinking of her skin
   turn again and again
Singing softly , mumbling curses
   never coming to an end

. . . . . ?. . . . .

I've seen the day come crashing down
   seen it rise up again
Seen love come in and walk out the door
   Seen relationships turn to snow

Seen reason falter , stumble and fall
   Seen it's anger and rage
Seen loves folly over coffee , jam , and toast
I see it all as if it were a ghost
The spawning shad
glimmered in the moonlight
below life support
of merely fragile men .
While thunderstorm's
lightning slapped
each other and
grumbled distant
in disgust
.

It was God's cruel gift
he gave unto me

the ability ,

to look into someone
through their heart

(and see)

The eyes are a portal
through which light flees

(be it)

white or dark

it's all revealed
to me

The words they say
or in silence be

(unto my eye)

there is all to see

Sometimes the overload . . .

the thousands touched
looking for gold

not finding much
Even if one inherited eternity of what value would it be without's God's love . It would be Hell .
A house is more
than brick , wood and motar
Life resides inside the structure

Every house has its bones
that become broken
by time
and then they are gone

You can feel the past that's speaking
The laughter , chatter and the weeping

Everyone says do not go
There's nothing there
but the pain you know

[Oh! the memories that were made . . .
when they lowered you into the grave . . .]

Now these days the birds sing and play
The new blue sky takes my breath away

Still I'm sadden
The loss immense
Even gone the picket fense

Every house that once was home
made of brick , motar , wood or stone

Becomes a cenotaph to the memories made . . .
to the past that's missing . . To those through enduring
. . . stayed . . .
Oh come hither to me
My sweetest honey roasted peanut lips
Your almonds I will nibble
You won't be able now to sleep
Let me crack your  perfect pecans
I will walnut you away
I will **** away your cashews
Lick all the salt away
I will ****** all your Brazil nuts
They are most precious I must say .
Yes I have gone completely nutty
What more could I say .
I'm going so fast . . .
I can't get my feet off the ground
My mind cha-chinging
With no thoughts to go around
Everything on you girl
You turn and twirl
Ah-Ha ! Yah-Hey !
Blowing smoke rings
makes it all seem okay

Winter rose in the curved road
Even in the golden sunlight
Your smoky breath
belies the warmth beneath the cold
For tonight's lover
Is on your side cover
Ah-Ha ! Yah-Hey !
Going so fast
somebody has to pay
When stars rise
on occasions

When my heart
turns gentle in
persuasions

When the cold
night's air

Embraces my
golden heart

of love's gone
despair

I turn to memories
of you

When I raise my hand
to touch

your face I paw
at the air

Then I sigh
and realize

It was just
a dream

Then my golden heart
shivers

More from the emptiness
than pain

Golden heart so cold

Golden heart so old

How I wish

I had no heart

at all
Golden ring , golden ring
No longer make's my heart to sing
I have come to the junction of a five way choice
Tell me which way to go

I will bury you in the middle of the road
My future is what my next step holds
Standing on a golden ring in the middle of the road
Tell me which road to take

East and West or North and South
The rumors spread far by word of mouth
Nobody seems to have a clue
Which way now will I choose

The choices made define the man
Standing on rock or shifting sand
How do I make the choice that counts
Standing on the ring in the middle of the road
In a field of
grasshopper heat
        of
the pride
the prone
        of
the all that
is forever gone
        of
crow hops - hops - hops
down a bug
        of
a bridge I built
across a creek
        of
frogs that
take a peek
        of
overhead
an eagle soars
        of
a mouse
fast in the grass
        of
cattails
around the pound
        of
a snake , branched
hanging on
        of
upon seeing me
falls and is gone
        of
a sea of goldenrod
and green
        of
sadly seeing
yesterday's dream
Our time was short
not aged like wine
The truth was plucked
from the vine
And I never got the chance
to say goodbye

The thoughts hold on
The heart despairs
The ghost of you
is everywhere
And I will always be next to and
. . . near you

so goodbye . . . farewell . . . goodbye

The day begins
just like it ends
Is it God's good will
it came to end
But my loneliness
shouts out in vain

So when something ends
it's time to begin
I won't be looking behind . . .
it's just the wind
And my arms are aching
from the pain

Goodbye . . . so goodbye
fare thee well

So go on now . . . cut your losses
Close the fact inside the coffin
Take the key and
lock it deep inside

Learn how to say your prayers
Long for the day without the cares
The evening air comes on now so chilling

Say goodbye , goodbye now . . .  forevermore

Goodbye . . .
you've closed the door

With every step I'm feeling
Where once so firm I'm reeling
from the overburden
of my motal ways

So just release my last goodbye
Don't even dare to ask me why
The chances are cast
the lot now devided

. . . so goodbye . . . goodbye . . .
. . . goodbye . . .  fare thee well . . .
"Goodbye" was the title of the poem
It was rather lengthy now to read
About the struggles of a girl
Suicide , and cutting just to bleed

I left a short comment there to see
And moved on down the page
And I never thought about it again
Time passed on by in days

Then last night I saw a poem
And it was titled "Thanks"
It was from the mother of the girl
Saying she committed suicide last night
"Goodbye" was the title of the poem
It was rather lengthy now to read
About the struggles of a girl
Suicide , and cutting just to bleed

I left a short comment there to see
And moved on down the page
And I never thought about it again
Time passed on by in days

Then last night I saw a poem
And it was titled "Thanks"
It was from the mother of the girl
Saying she committed suicide last night
It seems he has come to his end
Squashed by the wheels that spun over him
They say his better days
lay at his toes
No one now turns a page to see or disclose

No longer do his words go pop
Now that he can no longer hop
It's as it is I suppose
For the dead poet squashed on the road

The analytical is now over
Nothing left but for the spirits to hover
While not a (Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road)
Time has now come for the Yellow Brick Toad

Ribbit . . . . Ribbit . . . Ribbit

. . . . .  Ribbit . . . . Ribbit . . . .

Someday everyone

has to croak .
