Why did you tell me you love me
And kiss away my sorrows
You told me you love me
And that you'll be here tomorrow
But tomorrow never comes
Just a second too late
A moment too soon
As if I was the sun
And you were the moon
You were always just out of grasp
Forever teasing me with the idea of love
Dead girl swinging from a tree
As breezes blow melodically
She sways almost erotically
Blackening necrotically

She loved a boy who said goodbye
And laughed at her when she asked why
She thought that she might like to fly
And swing, and choke, and lastly, die

The noose around her throat, she jumped
Her neck bones snapped, her long legs pumped
'Til every bit of breath was gone
Now it's the wind she's dancing on

Her flesh turns putrid, then it slips
Insects crawl upon her lips
Flies infest her, north and south
Feasting on her crotch, her mouth

Some days later, she is found
Split skin sagging to the ground
Hung from a noose so tightly bound
Dead girl dancing 'round and 'round
I have seen too many young people take their lives.  It is an irrevocable tragedy.

Carve your initials on my skin
by tracing them with your fingers.

This surface will remember you,
caresses heavy with thought.
We are selfish
Why?
Well,
Because we think this world is ours.
It is ours to run
It is ours to cherish
It is ours to ruin
Why?
Because we think that flowers are beautiful
We pick them, we pluck them
As if they bloom for us
Why?
Because we think birdsong is charming
We imitate it
We sell it, we listen to it
As if they sing for us
Well we are selfish
I am selfish
You are selfish
Don't deny it
We are all selfish
We are all human
We are all the same
Aren't we?
There's a terrible pounding in your head
It's really annoying
Get it out
Get it OUT
Now it's gone
Oh thank god
You grab a glass
Down its contents
Fill it up
Down again
Up
Down
Up
Down
His face
It's gone
Her pain
It's over
Your pain
You're numb
Peace
Peace
Peace
And the cycle repeats
Solace in a drink
Pain in the morning
Memories assault me again

She screamed at him,
Stop it, stop it right now,
How many times must I tell you,
And he stopped,
Looked up at her and smiled,
With  the innocence of adolescence,
He looked up, wide eyed his index finger perched on his lip,
"Sorry mum,"  said he,
Mummy dashed off to the kitchen,
Thought maybe was time for tea,
Instead, she trotted back in,
Complete, with garden shears,
Snip, snip, chop, chop, off his fingers they did drop,
A pile of fingers left on the floor,
How many times did she tell him before,
Don't bite  your nails!
You should have seen his dripping fingers, hacked off at their sockets.

A  dark cautionary tale! LOL
You
You are worthless
You are amazing
You are hideous
You are ravishing
You are plain
You are stunning
You are stupid
You are witty
You are fine
You are broken
You are happy
You are choking
You are you
*You are beautiful
You are what you make of yourself. Choose wisely.

don't be so formal!
I put my pants on every day,
over my head,
just like everybody else,
just like a {you,man}

it helps me see better,
two pants legs,
one for each eye

it narrows the focus,
makes you care
where you tread,
where you t-read,
so when you write poetry,
you write
more slowly,
put one foot
or one eye,
before the next,
so you don't post
