Once again....
Lou Feb 2021
I run away when things are good,
I never really understood,
The way you laid your eyes on me,
In ways that no one ever could,
And so it seems I broke your heart,
My ignorance has struck again,
I failed to see it from the start,
And tore you up till the end.

Locked away
Lou Jan 2020
You can’t keep her in a cage,
Clip her wings,
Tell her lies,
Say that fragile birds were never meant to fly,
Watch her live behind a rusted door,
Latched tight,
Her spirit slipping away,
So you can keep her in sight,
Beautiful creatures cannot be confined,
Her wings will grow,
She’ll find the sky.

Stargazing
Lou Jan 2020
His dark eyes
held,
galaxies in them,
But she didn’t mind,
Because she loved stargazing.

Scars are tattoos
Lou Jan 2020
Scars are like memories,
and tattoos.
when you fall,
when your heart breaks,
and when your best friend turns their back on you.
it leaves scares that hurt every time you think about it.
it's a memory that will stick
in your head.
it's in the past but it comes back and bites.
it's a tattoo because it's a memory
that hurts,
but doesn't disappear.
It never does.
When you see it so vividly,
you sometimes regret what led you
to the scar that is a memory
that leaves an imprint in
your life's history.

The distance between us
Lou Feb 2021
The tail light leaves me blue in the dark hues
When it carries away what I belong too....
Unfolding the tar-black sky of asphalt,
The longest arm of missing you.....
My body is now the distance between us,
Big and empty.
The bigger the emptier, thinner than air...
As time piles up
my ladders turn into pointless meters
Measuring the ratio of nothing in everything.

Moonlight shine
Lou Jan 2020
He’s a falling star
Burning in the night
He’s the shimmer on the water
In the river of moonlight.

Alone
Lou Jan 2020
Inside of your mind and body
A numbing occurs
You feel shallow
So shallow
Like a lowering tide
As if the oceans will dry up
Forcing you and the fish to choke on air

But at least you'll have something in common right ?

Shattered like glass
Lou Jan 2020
Tears,
Shatter.
The floor,
Cracks.
Against the splashes,
You hear them splat.
Your heart beats furiously.
The girls heart breaks.
She falls.
Eyes shut.
The hits,
Leave cuts.
Her smile,
Vanished.
Against her own will,
She lashes.
Screaming,
"father NO!”
Abuse should not be taken lightly

Loves verse
Lou Jan 2020
Your heart is my heart,
In my body so deep.
Your soul is my soul,
In my heart to keep.
Just a short verse

Dream
Lou Jan 2020
As Eyes close to this reality
They open up to Dream
Where nothing makes sense
and nothings
As it seems
Yet it lingers into real-time
That moment in the morning
When I’m dreaming yet awake
and I find myself wondering
Which reality is real.

My first high
Lou Jan 2020
Take me back
to my first high,
to the first time,
that he and I,
sparked a bit,
of indica,
bloodshot red eyes,
take more hits,
to revisit,
before we split,
And life changed in a blink of an eye
take me backwards,
reverse time,
to my brother and I,
to my first high.

Midnight catcher
Lou Jan 2020
Midnight just stands there
It watches me with a stare
He doesn't like to sleep
Yet he sleeps with everyone but me
I'm calm as it storms
In this mental fire I am warm
I'm not without but within
As I let midnight in
There's a hollow in the sounds
Resounding through the pounds
Of my insomniac heart
In the silky black dark
He was made in the light
But lives in darkest night
Solemn and upright
Like a high end socialite
He makes me feel alive
Before the sun slowly dies
A dreamcatcher for my dreams
But nothing's really what it seems.
Needing sleep

Fire and water
Lou Jan 2020
Loneliness is a fire,
Which I hold close to my skin,
To see how much pain I can stand,
Before running into the water.

Pain
Lou Jan 2020
It hurts
They don’t tell you that it hurts,
That your chest gets too tight and aches,
And your lungs gasp and scream for air,
While your throat stings and your eyes swell,
And burn from scalding tears,
That you can’t stop no matter how much you want too.
They don’t tell you that your muscles scream the next day from tensing up so much,
They don’t tell you that there’s no way to stop them,
They don’t tell you that they don’t just affect your body they overtake your mind.
Every fear, every small worry magnified until they’ve grown into a panic crushing you under its weight.
It weighs so heavily on you all day
There’s pain in your heart, in your mind, until it finally goes away, not today not tomorrow next week or month but slowly with time.

Little things
Lou Jan 2020
A tragedy miles of time away,
The anguish almost forgotten,
But pain is a stubborn stain,
Counselling never washes it away,
Like a stubborn ****
It is always there,
Rooted in composted memories,
Finding nourishment in the briefest recollections.
The slightest trigger allowing it to briefly blossom.
When you have experienced a trauma that leaves you with ptsd any little thing can be a trigger.

Anxiety
Lou Jan 2020
Everyone is staring,
You're trying so hard to stay standing,
But your heart is racing,
Instead of walking straight,
You start wobbling,
Your eyes begin to strain,
You start feeling as if you just gained a lot of weight,
Your heart sinks as you run away,
You have to hide,
You musn't let them see,
The you that is scared to be seen,
You feel like you can't even breathe,
Your lungs are tightening,
As you sink against a wall,
Just cry, maybe someday it'll be alright .

They tell you to never look back,
To be afraid of what you would find,
But maybe they just don’t want you to know,
What you running forms all in your mind.
