Love is a word, never quite understood
its meaning changes, as it sometimes should
it could cause a tear, while showing its care
it could reside far away, or it could be near

It could be hidden, sometimes in the open
maybe it could go lost, but could never be stolen
love can be a sickness, sometimes it's the cure
and with the right words, it causes that allure

Whatever love is, very much can be said
shared with both the living, and the dead
love removes unhappiness from within our soul
binding even strangers to share a common goal

When our time comes, we will all be called upon high
asked to give an accounting, without being able to lie
how much friendship, peace and love did you spread
or with your own selfishness, did you choose to be fed

For now, however, you don't feel too compelled
self indulgence, has not as of yet been dispelled
eventually, unbeknownst, melancholy will take hold
no longer with your excuse, why was I never told?

Life is just too short, your own accomplishments are as of yet still few
how many wonderful things in life, they await, for no one but you
open your mind and your heart to see how much there is yet to do
happiness, you'll ultimately realize, is the only thing that's really true

From the depths of darkness, there will yet come the light
what others have cast aside, will one day light up the night
mysteries envelop this world, unseen but perceived within
a silence broken, noise reverberating at the drop of a pin

From the depths of loneliness, crying out, as tears are shed
no longer to be consoled, regardless of what words are said
having to face harsh facts, alone in the world is your reality
unwilling to follow society's norms, this, your abnormality

From the depths of heart, knowing who and what you are
you just want to live and let live, no desire to be that star
but you're often challenged, having to stay your ground
forced to fight for what you believe, yet one more round

From the depths of this inner isolation, you've acquired a skill
learning how to release your emotions, with paper and quill
no longer will you hide, ready for battle, and you persevere
fight for what's right, don't follow others, or you'll disappear

From the depths of pain, your arrogance to remove, it's your rebirth
a chance to sincerely make amends, waiting was heaven and earth
only now aware, the only true friend you have, he was always there
blinded by a selfishness, at whose direction, destined you for despair

From the depths of love, man will always reach the greatest heights above
when he sacrifices all that he has, you can be sure it's because of this love
but to achieve lasting love, you must first uproot what's hidden deep below
only then will those feelings of joy and happiness, upon others, begin to flow

You can change the world if you only cared, just listen for the truth to call
remember your self-deception in youth, and the excuses that caused you to fall
be brave enough to stand up to the challenge, the world awaits its saving grace
before you is the chance to become its hero, don’t end up as just another disgrace

Do not squander away opportunities, reacting on impulse is not the way to go
the world exists, contribute to it as would a partner, never just go with the flow
our days in this world have been calculated, a set schedule in which to perform
don’t err thinking, because you’re alone, no longer are you obligated to conform

Everything in life is an absolute test, and nobody will ever be excused
compelled, you will accept life’s challenges, or forever remain confused
winning is not the real goal, but only a mirage, one of life’s real diversions
unwilling to realize the truth, is another of your mind's illusional excursions

Did you hear the news of what's going on in the world, death and suffering cry out
how can we call ourselves human, remaining silent with not so much as a shout
the masses rebel by killing and pillaging, what their dictators have always sought
unable to discern, now perpetuating this same hatred, an evil they’ve been taught

The answer to tranquility in life, can only be found in those willing to sacrifice
heart and soul willing to do that which is good, with no consideration of price
even if it means giving up on your own desires, this is the way toward the light
you commit yourself and sacrifice, because your heart and soul know it is right

An endless light is where you now come, arriving to a place perfect in every way
a heavenly sphere surrounded by spiritual beings, you begin to tremble and pray
comforted by what you are told, having sanctified the Almighty in what you chose
having banished part of the evil in this world, and with it destroying all of its woes

You’ve changed the world, raising it from debt to merit, in the eyes of the One above
causing divine good, as invisible rays of light, to gravitate to where exists this love
how difficult to fathom, but self-sacrifice of just one soul is all that was ever needed
this self-sacrifice caused by your caring soul, is with what mercy has now pleaded

We can change the world and make a difference, by no longer continuing to fabricate
despite our human flaws we can change, and this evil from within we must eradicate
an existential moment of choice lies ahead, our actions having an everlasting effect
during life is the time to plan, making our eternal happiness nothing less than perfect
