Suit and tie
or gold stacked high
dreams cast out
take root
for a few

agreed upon reality
of desired traits
inhibit the minds
of never divine
mental states

stay true to yourself,
rebel
I'll stand with you

challenge your planet
with constructs of mind
shape it, form it
and for you,
the earth shall rise
In a world where poetry has a voice.
i.

without words,
boy, caught up in the dark,
brown-eyed boy,

as night drifts,
dark in her clouds.

ii.

a tumbling
star,
leaden feet
sink to earth,

drowning stream...
poured from a water jug
a dark, crackling sky.

iii.

night's thick opiates
glaze,

unmissable sky
sinks anchor-like.

iv.

slumber-heavy,
dreams carried to the stars,
lost time
stretching like a cat.

v.

boy, sleep sound tonight,
brown-eyed boy,

as night drifts
dark in her clouds.

Life seems pretty
Plain with
Their faces so dull,
Arms so
Weak, the
Weight
Of the world
So heavy.

Suppose that it
Does get
Brighter beyond these
Black horizons and
Opaque words of
The mad.

Where will we be
Once the
Weight of
The world crumbles
Beneath
Mounds of
Saline tears and
Ashen hearts?
Title explains it all, my friends.

I'll be sending my thoughts on the waves of wind, to get to you.
Letting my tongue rest and silence do what my voice can't seem to do.

If I could just keep my mouth shut.
I can feel my better judgment shaking her head.
A knot is forming in my gut.
No one cares about where you've been, what you've seen, what march you led.
I ache to be poised, to shine like a beacon of grace.
Instead, I watch eyes glaze over.
Because let's face it no one can keep pace.
Keeping me calm is like finding a four leaf clover.
I just want to curl into a corner and hide.
Because I just can't do mysterious and I dread normal.
My mind just likes to take everyone for a ride.
I just want to bring everyone in, no need to be formal.
I just wish I could sometimes keep my mouth shut.

My emotions...

My thoughts...

My feelings...

They are but a chemical reaction

Within my mind

That is what people tell me

So that they can control me

But I refuse...

To be...

Your little puppet anymore.

You knew me
Like how you knew those little things
The dynamics of the world
The itsy bitsy twirls

You knew me
Like how you knew the stars
How they would align spectacularly
Keeping the moon company

You knew me
Like how you knew words
Churning rhymes and stories
Lines so melodious to the heart

You know me**
Almost like telepathy
As you sing my favourite songs
And draw the views I love
Us
Someone asked me
What my ideal man and woman is
Guess what
I showed a picture of us

Sin
There's only one her
It's all a blur
But I can't forget

Now someone gets to wake
Wake to her sleeping face
Kiss her to life
       The only her.

They get to fall in love
With all of her flaws
Hear all of her stories
Feel all of her worries

I feel despair
I just want to touch her hair
Will they know?
What is before them

A sensation on the lips
That I'll never feel again
Is placed upon them
Like it is nothing

To me it seems a sin
To ever forget.
