as the leaves fell
from the autumn boughs
he evoked to mind
their marriage vows

the golden maple's hues
reminded him of her wedding ring
it stood for something lasting
yet their love
perished
in the cooling
wind's
chill
which was for him
a
most
bitter
pill

the brown colours of November
tumbled into his empty heart
for his once loving wife
did take leave
his eyes
filled
with
tears
as the skies
clouded in grey
their union of love
on the autumn boughs
drifted
away

The ultimate day when families and friends come from far and wide
To stand by your side and rejoice when they hear you say the words “I DO”

Two simple words but what do they mean?

I DO – love you with all my heart until the day that we depart.
I DO – want you to love me too, forever and ever you say “I DO”.
I DO – want to take you in my arms and walk with you by my side, come along with me sweetheart we’ll travel far and wide and together, we’ll enjoy the ride.
I DO – want to grow our family, increase our Kin, brothers and sisters sticking together through thick and thin.
I DO - want to support you in all that you do, travel the world and see things new
I DO - want to be by your side to wipe your tears when you are down, to catch you should you fall
I DO - want to adore your body and you can ravish mine, always  keeping our bodies deliciously entwined

But most of all Sweetheart I Just want you and if you want me too, then i will be the happiest person on this earth to utter those two small words "I DO"
Our Anniversary is coming up 27th this month and our Son is getting married 31st March, it just got me thinking.

They say I'm crazy
and I know it's true.
But I know by waiting
I'm saving myself for you.

one day i will walk to you,
clothed in the crisp linen of virtue
and amid all the people
i shall see only the one being
that i long to become
for one man shall leave his mother
and his father
and two become one.

Tonight is a cluster of
Recognitions, remembrances
Mostly reminiscence
Which sift in the breeze
Gusting beneath the temporary
Tarpaulin tent

Backs are slapped
Arms embraced
Smiles predominate
As shiny faces and gleaming  foreheads
Illuminated by flashing cameras
Twinkle like fireflies displaying
In a muggy June meadow

Photos pulled from stained
Billfolds move from hand to hand
Displaying glossies of babies, graduations
Weddings and “The big catch”

Relatives, friends and officials
Find their place on folded metal chairs
For a wedding ceremony

Tonight has become a gathering
Marriage planned for tonight

The Vows

I am ready to commit to you in a way I've never committed to another soul, to give my heart to you no matter what circumstances life may throw our way.. I am ready to give my mind so that we may prosper and always have fresh ideas so that our love and lives will thrive... I am ready to give my all to make you happy as you have made me the entirety of our time together. I am ready to communicate no matter what. To speak what's on my mind, so you will never have to read between the lines. I am ready to love you forever and always, for you to be my morning... My noon.. And my night... I am ready to be your life. So without a moment more of hesitation, I'm ready to say I do..

One syllable,
three measly letters
And lifetimes of happiness.

The greatest smiles are come from it
The happiest tear is shed
It’s utterance can make you JUMP and LEAP and TWIRL and SPIN or...
Or burst hearts sealed in lead.

And lifetimes of happiness
Three measly letters
One syllable.
Yes.
For Mon fille and the laugh lines he got when his boy said yes.

I found this ruin only by chance,
Its hypnotic Ivy, leaves me in a trance,
Hiding the features with its natural lace,
Supporting the wall, as they embrace,

The child inside me, can't help but explore,
Ascending the steps, to the withered old door,
Opening it slowly, interrupting the calm,
Disturbing the peace, like a morning alarm,

Birds fleeting, like the thoughts in my mind,
In awe of it's beauty, I left my troubles behind.
The sun breaking through, the absent gable,
Highlighting a chair, missing its table.

I come to rest in that old wooden chair,
I look up, in the suns aura I stare,
The heavens open as my spirit glides,
Out from my body as I breathe through the sky.

I am drawn to the roadside of an old country lane,
A car hugging a tree, smoke following flame,
A camera recording, from a lifeless grip,
Capturing the tragedy of a summers road trip,

Besides a body, is his newly wed bride,
Her breathing shallow, she looks in his eyes,
Calling his name, for the very last time,
Her spirit leaves, as she is drawn to mine,

Our spirits embrace as we ascend for sky,
As the heavens await the groom....
..and his beautiful bride.
