I fell asleep to the music and memories of you
I got high off the remnants of your lingering perfume
Caught in my jacket that you wore

They say we're all destined for one other
Thought that was you
Guess I was wrong

Do you remember the place we first met?
I do
My darkest times
My weakest of moments

You took me in
Fixed me and my broken soul
Healed me from my shattered self

You showed me the good in life
Just as I had seen the bad
I only found it got worse

You gave and gave
But little did I know
You could take and take just as easily.

I made many mistakes in my time
But there is one I regret above all
Meeting you

Guess you'll find me at the same place we first met
My darkest times
My weakest moments
And my broken heart

Take me to that quiet place
Take me to that quiet place
away from functions of the day
Both mindless work and child’s play
Oh! Heart and Mind both loudly say
Take me to that quiet place

Wishing for that quiet place
Wishing for that quiet place
Timeless hours stretch the night
Twilight filled with bright moonlight
Oh! I wish for life’s alight
For silence of that quiet place

Behold at last! That quiet place
Behold at last that quiet place
Silent air leaves soothing ear
A beating heart most scarcely here
Light descends and I call dear
Take me to that quiet place.

why does the world drain me of all that I am
but then expect me to fill myself back up like its nothing?

I can't take the rain, can't take the growth.

There’s a little ghost in my heart,
We’re roommates you see,
My little shadow and I.
And when times get rough
She gives me medicine to keep the walls
From crashing down
And I give her beautiful bedtime stories
And write out her songs.
The only reason I’ve survived has been because of my
Pretty little ghost,
My lonely little shadow.
So
Why
Would you try and take her?
She’s mine.
She’s my heart,
The only beat that steadies my tune
The only real ground in the sky.
She is mine to reveal.
I guess I shouldn’t have shown her to you in the first place
But I hate that trust can be such a backstabber,
And I trusted you.
I trusted you to keep your distance,
I didn’t want you to dig so deep.
Even now she whispers that you can’t fault
Rain for falling,
Even if it is the cause of your cold.
So I won’t blame you.
But I guess that right now all I’m saying is
Please,
Leave me with my
Shadow.
