I wander trails that are shaded by trees
until I reach the first steep rock scramble.
Walking steadily on old, crunchy leaves
I believe it's the mountains' preamble

I scale these rocks with eager hands and feet
my yearning heart pumps blood through my blue veins.
This mountain will not hand me my defeat
muscles strain and the rocks help break my chains.

Sturdy rocks and sacred trees surround me
their presence strengthens my weak, depressed bones.
My muscles burn with effort, but I'm free
to become one with the trees and the stones.

Though there are times where my mind may plummet.
I'll survive the fall, I've reached the summit.

I went to New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine with my sister these past four days. I climbed two mountains and it was such an amazing feeling to be at the top. My body was so tired and it wanted to give up so bad, but I wanted to reach the top even more. I reached the tops of both of these mountains and I was so proud of myself. I felt so accomplished and it helped me reconnect with myself in a way.
So now the next few poems I post are going to be about this trip. So be prepared for poems about mountains, natural springs, an even trains.

Stay, please, let us stay.
Allow us to remain
Here
Upon this heavenly summoned rock,
Reigning above the valley below,
There,
Where the horizon meets the setting sun,
And now the beastly songs have just begun.

Let us lay here
Within the silence of the whisp'ring wind,
And the cold, biting air breathing on us.
Farewell, daylight.
Uncloak the suns that were hidden from sight.
Allow the warmth of mine guide me tonight.

All of life is which to live
When you reach the summit
God eventually gives
Nirvana heaven peace
Of all the variations I wish for none
Just an eternity with you
Only one

This Poem is dedicated to the lives lost while climbing the most unforgiving Peaks in the world.
" "Why did you want to climb Mount Everest? * "
" *Because it's there.
"
George Leigh Mallory* 1923

Eyes stinging,I'm facing up to the test,
realising that this could could be the death of me yet,
take a peek at the peak from under my hood,
life sapping winds leech heat from blood.
Of a lesser one maybe, but me no never,
take the pace easy, got to box clever

As the hurricane howls I know I can't sweat,
if you do you lose heat, that's the kiss of death,
push endurance to the max through the **** zone,
keep your mind right cause you're on your own,
stay positive,already faced K2,
Savage Mountain behind me,time for take two*
taking on the monster,most unforgiving,
Goddess of the sky, sacrifices the living,
of the ones who tried 9% have died,
Sagarmatha- I say a silent prayer for their lives.

Don't want my name on the roll of the lost,
souls wandering the peak like a host of ghost's,

save a thought for the Sherpa's,unflinching guides,
without whom the attempt is sheer suicide

Is it Vanity?, Ego? that pushes us to climb,
the 8 thousand plus defy man and time
I can't answer-even though I know the ledge
all I know is life's sweeter when you're on the edge,
of the precipice the gap between life and death
preserve your oxygen-steal each breath,

Born risk taker- adrenaline drug of choice,
free-dived blue hole,flew Carl's walls heights,
but this is the big one, can't take fright-
or I'll be frozen like a statue,by the dawn's cold light,
point of no return strength got to summon it,
whole life leads to the push for the summit."
as it says at the top this is a Poem dedicated to the lives lost in the pursuit of the ultimate.

You are the summit I reached
(to breach cloud nine)

And from this mountain

I could proclaim it loud

Instead I’ll whisper to the winds

And the earth will shake

And the heavens quake

Causing every seismograph to etch poetry

All addressed to your name

And as She rises

The Sun will burn every page with bliss

— The End —
