My Dear Poet Sep 2021
Winter, one night, came to visit me
It sat in the chair opposite me
In a dark room it blew a chill over me
Ripped the cover right off me
Naked and hunched, it mocked me
Then fell in love with summer and left me
Ursula Wolf Sep 2021
Summer nights in your eyes,
Car rides at floating sunsets
You took my rose-hand
And pulled me up onto a pine tree.
You were the bird and I was the cone.
The world seemed to be in love,
But then I fell
And you flew away.
Winter nights in your heart,
Dry leaves at cold-births
You grabbed my shirt
And pushed me into cavity.

wind chimes in early morning breeze
the sizzle of shadows
from the blazing sun
kisses my skin
all sticky from sweat and heat
i twitch
the whites of my eyes are painted with tears
take a step
and jump
plunge myself into the blue
and bathe in the grey afternoon clouds
til i wait
for the sunset.

are you the last day of summer?
the final whisper of the sun
soon
i'll let you go
and see you again
but for now
let me cry
and hold you tight.
topacio Sep 2021
I wasn't crying for you,
regardless of what your eyes told you.
I was crying for me
on that mildew night
when you decreed
we could no longer be.
salty drops of relief,
instead of disbelief.
hands in head to honor
the future I can now possess
as you let go of me
and I can fall further
into the beauty that is myself,
& honor the rose which you never
knew how to stop and smell.

summer lingers on
september on and on and
gone /   chill of october dawn:
pink frost, dew, warm bed, me, you
—till the alarm clock turns on.

rain fell, in leaps and bounds
and you dissolved with the last of summer days
...

In the shine of a summer's day
Standing alone in an open field
Alone with the clouds and passing birds
The grass swaying to their song
One wonders what they say

One among many
A soul among plenty
Wondering what the day shall yield

To bring great emotion into words
Is to pull from the sea
But a single creature
from the deepest of trenches
Hoping it is whole, not divided into thirds
Of the grandeur it could be

Alas, here where the grass grows long
There is not a sea,
But an endless sky
On a peaceful summer day.

Thinking about a lovely summer's day.
Clouds moved , sun shined
flowers bloomed , butterflies reached
happiness spread , so did the light
I love summer only because I get vacation at that time...😂
