i missed your voice

so i turned on the songs i always imagined you'd sing

on the corner of my bed

just to look for your voice amongst the others'

somehow i always find it

Some songs have a girl's name.

And I wonder
what came first?
The song or the title?
The passion or the girl?

I expect it was the latter,
followed by the sorrow.

And I expect the words
were found much later.
What do I know? I'm no song writer.
Tobi Jul 4
I almost told a girl
"I think you're pretty."
But then I burnt my tongue
Since when did I cower
Oh pity!

Yes, I said it
Well didn't say it
But she's got
A radiant smile
And eyes that glow

I can't tire from her laugh
It gives me strength
I'm entangled in a thousand
No a million thoughts
When I see her

But my friend is closer
Too close I say
She might be taken
I thought, I swore out loud
I never stood a chance

But it's kinda dumb
She's still my friend
We love each other
But I still dream
That she becomes my lover

Oh Misery!
Have pity!
Why can't someone like her
Kiss me on the lips and say
"You're mine."?
Tobi Jul 4
I look at you
And say,
"Not anymore"
**** it!

You lied and stole
My kindness
And whatever
We were

I'm tired of you
You bring me misery
Besides, you need
Not my pity

Besides, if I left you
You wouldn't bat an eye
Because others
Love you too

So why care anymore?
You'll go off to your tower
And shower your love
To all that care

But me, me!
I wouldn't care
Your love to me
Died yesterday

There was once a time
I thought we only part
When the bomb dropped
And the world caved in

But now! Now!
I don't even hate
I just dislike you
****! I only liked you

Anyways, my misery
I'll try to show pity
But don't expect
Love from me

Why care anyway?
You'll go off to your glass castle
And shower your grace
To all that love you

But me, me!
I wouldn't care
Your love to me
Died yesterday

You have friends,
You have love,
So you definitely
Don't need me anyways

So you
My misery
My misery
Let me breath

****! Why care?!
Why care anyway?
Don't you
See that you hurt me

You'll go off to your capital
Of your golden empire
Shower your love
To all that adore you

But me, me!
I wouldn't care
Your love for me
Died yesterday

And I know,
You'll be fine
So in my love for you
I can not try

As the guns go blazin'
And bombs keep fallin'
I wonder what life was
What time it was

Oh...they hated my black skin
But at least my masters
Fought for freedom,
Peace and love
(How charming)

They go about
In their armored beasts
And instruments of pain
Reigning destruction on
The human race

But now I wonder
What will we do?
This oh so wonderful
Sweet-lovin'
Generation of mine

We dare not think
Of the death of our fellow man
But we crowd ourselves
And beckon forth
To fan the flames

Of war, and death and destruction
The pigs in their ivory towers called
And still call upon generations
To sacrifice, to die
For the country we so love

But I wonder,
I truly wonder
When it really matters
Who will bear the cost
Of our death and misdeeds?

Oh, women shall cry
And men of iron shed a tear
Daughters too
For there goes our sons, our brothers
And lovers
To death they now knew

And I wonder what they'll do
When I join them very soon
What can I do?
I'm just a tool , yes a tool
A government mule

And yet I raise my banner
And I march on, I really do
AK in one hand, a machete in the other
On the beach, in the air, in the city
In the jungle, the snow and sands

At the highest peaks
And lowest valleys
In tundra and in heat
I say truly to my country,
"It's an honor to die for you."
WHISKEY WISDOM 🎵
by Roger Turner

[Verse 1]
A man is always looking
To get some free advice
So go and find the fellow
Drinking whiskey over ice
Your friends will tell you one thing
While you're both knocking back a beer
But really, I mean really
Is this the stuff you need to hear?

[Verse 2]
Find a whiskey drinker
He'll tell you how to buy a car
He'll share his whiskey wisdom
About what's a good cigar
A man who drinks good whiskey
Whether neat or over ice
Is the best one you can turn to
When you're looking for advice

[Chorus]
🎶 Whiskey wisdom, smooth and slow
Poured out quiet, like you’d know
From an old soul in a leather chair
Who’s seen it all and doesn’t care
He’s not preachin’, he’s just nice
Giving whiskey wisdom over ice 🎶

[Verse 3]
He's made it and he knows it
He's not drinking at the pub
He's sitting in a wing back
Drinking whiskey at the club
He won't talk just to hear it
No small talk or some fad
He’ll tell you straight and simple
The kind of truth that your dad had

[Chorus]
🎶 Whiskey wisdom, smooth and slow
Poured out quiet, like you’d know
From an old soul in a leather chair
Who’s seen it all and doesn’t care
He’s not preachin’, he’s just nice
Giving whiskey wisdom over ice 🎶

[Bridge]
So skip the book, forget the blog
Turn off that podcast monologue
Sit down, pour ******* right
And listen to a man who’s lived some life

[Final Chorus]
🎶 Whiskey wisdom, tried and true
It’s not just what—but how and who
From love to loss, to deals gone bad
He’ll pour it out, the good and sad
No silver spoon, just lived it twice
Giving whiskey wisdom over ice 🎶

[Outro]
So if you’re lost or need direction
Or just some straight advice
Go get yourself some answers
Sharing whiskey over ice

I'm not much of a dancer

Rythm is something that beats in me
But rests inside

Can't get it to run from the valve through the vains
And reach my fingers

Escape and work me free

Although I hear it like a clock's hand's echo
Commanding my will

I'll never dance

But the current will flow and burn my fuse
Overload the circuit

Because too much has been asked of me
And I had no release

And no matter how electrifying the song may be

I resist
(acoustic guitar intro)
(verse)
I remember the look in your eyes
I remember the sound of your sighs
I remember all of those good good times

(chorus)
but that was before you lied
before you made me cry
before you broke my heart.
Please tell me why!
Please tell me why!

(verse2)
I remember the good times we had
and I remember before our love turned bad
but I can't remember why.
because.

(chorus)
that was before you lied,
before you made me cry
before you broke my heart.
Please tell me why!
Please tell me why!

(instrumental bridge) (guitar solo)

Please tell me why
Please tell me why,
Tell me why you lied
why our love died.

I remember the look in your eyes,
I remember the sound of your sighs
the good times we had,
before our love turned bad,
but I can't remember why.

Why you Lied,
Why did you lie?

(outro)
Why did you lie?
Please tell me,
Please tell me
Why?
Why?

Why.
Please tell me why you lied
New song available on my you tube channel
I actually made 2 versions of this 1 with a male vocal that's definitely a country song.
And another with a Female vocal that's a little more Pop. I hope you'll give them both a listen and comment as too which one was better.
