Sometimes I sit and stare
At my grandparents
Admiring the love they share.
It's beautiful
And true
Evident
In everything they do.
It's a relationship
To be jealous of
To strive for
To look for
Not many of us find it
But the lucky ones do.
They were young
He was wild
She was innocent
But something in them mixed
Now it's forty years later
And their kids had kids
They make me believe in love
And look forward to the future
I see the possibilities
Never-ending
Always there
I hope someone will love me
Like they love each other
To be like my grandparents;
The perfect pair.

Dear one,
as desired,
meticulously
corrected
the mistakes
you made,
one by one.
In the process
added my own,
do I need to tell?
I take refuge
in the thought
that it was expected
when you chose
me for this job.
All I can say is this:
we complement
each other;
but perfection
is the mirage
we relentlessly
search in this desert.

I've learned how to love myself,
And I've gained confidence, too.
I never knew such adoration,
Until I met you.

The stars aligned for us,
And though I've called them crossed,
Our lives are so enriched,
There cannot be a loss.

The technology of the day
Has made our Union possible.
There is so much left to say.
So much joy, it is unstoppable.

And though this Century has blessed
Us with the gift of togetherness,
We know we well surpass
What others will never caress.

I will be by your side all this while,
And through the years, I'll boldly go,
And with any thought of you, I smile.
You're with me more than you will know.
Xoxo,

a little bird found another
to share its lovely song
here i am with no one
though i've tried for so long
to find the missing piece
to the puzzle that's my heart
but i'm beginning to think
that there's no other part

a little bird found another
to share its woven nest
still my heart beats alone
just a thumping in my chest
there's a pair for a shoe
and a *** for the tea
can someone let me know
is there no one for me?

a little bird found the one
here i am, i have none
in all directions i have looked
but still i can't find
someone that would own me
and that i could call mine
i have sung, no one heard
pray tell me, where's my own little bird?

Long I had tried,
to make sense of what plagues
the minds of those in love.
Long I had cried,
thinking myself far too rational
to fall apart under your gaze.
But now mystery
brings out a certain charm in you
that I've gotten so fond of.
Unaligned symmetry;
my half-a-heart and yours, never
a perfect fit, but a bittersweet pair.

And I wish this poem was true, but it's not. I still can't understand and I'm surprisingly okay with that now, on most days.

The first thought in my head
At the sight of the two together
Was, 'they don't match, but they fit,'
Like the beginning of Fall meeting the end of Summer.

Bright and outspoken
Warm summer days
Beside the quiet thoughtfulness
Of Autumn's leisurely change.

It's beautiful and intriguing
It's not meant for paper alone
So I'll shout it from the highest mountains
And write it in the most-heard songs.

Summer's heat speaks of joy
Though the nights talk of pain
And through the smiles and laughter
Is evidence of life's strain.

Autumn is quiet but opinionated
And riddled with hurricanes
But the light of Summer
Will never let Autumn fall again.

Summer writes of beautiful chaos
Autumn writes of simple existence
They don't match, but they fit
I'm amazed every time I see them.

See, the first thought in my head
At the sight of the two together
Was, 'they don't match, but they fit,"
Like the beginning of Fall meeting the end of Summer.
More poetry inspired by the muses :D for once, I feel like I wrote it somewhat correctly.
In a world of birds
you're the queen of swans
and I'm the common crow

how I wish
we could be a pair of cardinals
