Starlit seeking waves against a summer's blow
meet a shallow shore on a midnight of May.

A day dreamer grazes white lights of a night sky
with twinkled gazes-she wished for a touch,

bare feet tickles wet sand,
heartbeats skips a harmony,

a longing desire locks and loads
firing wanderlust into star-soot boots
on and upwards she goes
becoming breathing breaths
of a dream, that wished to live,

and live it did

10 Mays later-

amidst violent radiance
a contrail climbs- through earth's window
and into a void of shadowed dawn
                                                            she goes.

The End.
work in progress, rip it apart.. any suggestions? Trying to write about a girl who wants to go into space to explore the vast universe; but I want the poem to be a picture of a moment in time when she realized,  it was possible. I don't like what I have written so far so don't pander me with a generic comment about you loving my poem (blah blah blah); Please don't do that, it irritates me. If you liked it, tell me why and tell me what needs to be improved.
before your hands had ever grazed
the tops of my thighs and before your
lips had touched my own, you
knew me. your eyes
penetrated through my soul the
moment we met; in that first
glance, I knew that you had
seen me before. without speaking a
word, you understood
everything that I have ever been and
will ever be. thousands of years and
thousands of lifetimes have
passed between us; we are a
love story carved into
the Earth, repeating itself until
nothing is left and where we
existed is pure black amongst the
cosmos. but even when all is
gone, your whispers will still
echo; they will still reach
me. whatever and wherever we are, you
and I will be called back to
each other, once again.

I don't write anew
thoughts happen to me.
As I sit looking up,
at times I am able to tune in
to the Cosmic frequency
and they descend,
the Thoughts,
that already exist
floating in the cosmos.

After the dazzle of day is gone,
Only the dark, dark night shows to my eyes the stars;
After the clangor of ***** majestic, or chorus, or perfect band,
Silent, athwart my soul, moves the symphony true.
This poem was written by Walt Whitman and appeared in his major poetry collection called "Leaves of Grass" (1855, multiple revisions).

When I smile at the Sun,
That shining golden medal,
I feel something stir inside,
And blissfully go mental.

Days may pass, I’d still rejoice
At this foolish mem’ry,
Gleaming right through my essence,
Generously merry…

When I twinkle at the Moon,
That pale silver pendant,
I’m beside myself: the boon,
Gracefully resplendent.

Dusks will go and dawns will come,
Timeless, formless spirit
Will tell me that we are one:
Wholeness and no limit…

When I humbly hug the Sea,
That precious sapphire platter,
There is nothing I can’t see:
All flows back, de-scattered…

Waves may crash and birds may sing,
Thunderous in their beauty,
Lastly, will I find my peace
In this senseless duty.

Like cold steel on the tongue,
Inducing mind numbing headaches
when taken in excess.
But I am tempted by the allure of
the numerous colours and aromas.
They call to me like sirens on a
distant shoreline and I cannot resist.

Once tried, I surrender myself
To a taste sensation.
Like a lightning bolt surging through my body
And pinning me to the ground.
All my senses are aroused.
I have become one with the universe,
I see everything, I feel everything.

The contrast between the bone chilling
and the soft melt in your mouth
 take me on a journey.
I am hurtling through the cosmos at light speed,
I witness the dawn of time,
The birth of planets and the death of a billion stars.
I voyaged beyond infinity and discovered the meaning of life.

But this journey has not yet reached its end.
For I know there is still more to see.
So I give myself willingly.
A slave to this icy temptress that is
Mint choc chip, or Raspberry ripple, or Vanilla,
or any of the other numerous flavours.
PS. Cone is compulsory
this best describes how much i love an ice cream cone
it feels like i have
explored the whole universe
when i look at you
to the boy who made me see every single star, who made the sun brighter, who made the moon shine more radiantly. to the boy who hung up the moon.

You are my cosmos.
My galaxy
of swirling stars.
I will never get out
from beneath your skies.
It does not matter
where I go,
or how fast I run,
You are always
above me,
watching,
laughing.
