Immortality Jan 23
Life’s like an old rose garden,
once blooming,
now withering.

Petals falling,
replaced by dry leaves,
wrapped in silence,
once so rare,
now so heavy.

I return home,
laughter ringing in ears.

But as the door shuts,
loneliness greets me,
like a cold, hazy mist,
or dark clouds that the stars resist.
Life is a really rollercoaster of emotions.... simple... :)
that loneliness always pulls me in after a vibrant party.... don't know why??...

We live a thousand little lives
In the turns we didn't take
On hazy late night drives

Through quiet conversations
Words hidden under the covers
Never to be seen by daylight

Reinventing ourselves over and over
Through broken habits
And the books we read

The songs stuck in our heads change
Seasons shift without warning
Everything fades

Everyday we change
I guess that's growth
Asphalt night
by red dawn’s light
descends into deepest fog.

A glimmer of bright
on the edge of sight
shimmers blue: I begin to walk.
Inspired by this photo I took in thick night fog: https://bsky.app/profile/jackgroundhog.bsky.social/post/3lgavecz3q22j

Woven between nerves and tendons
You travel like a piece of thread
Delicate and soft, the needle pierces
out through the epidermal and I finally see
The bright gleam of your teeth
Grinning as you bite down into me

Like your clothing, I am still and pliant
Only shifting to wrap around you once more
Only speaking to soothingly whisper
Against your skin, I am a blanket of secrets
You've woven into me once again

Come tomorrow, I will show your colors
And live the world by your design
Dyed in deep pigmented jasmine
Brightened emerald and sublime

Come tomorrow, I'm a painter,
A weaver, intertwined
Today, tomorrow, I will love you
And leave the monochrome behind

The day is cold and calm,
kissing at my cheeks and ears,
staining me pink
and offering quiet advice–
I listen to it,
pay attention
to the tiny cardinal steps
in the tall snow
as the sun sets
and the faraway trees become orange mountains,
as the straight-up branches of a naked pear tree
point to God,
and I know that I am changing again.

My hair is a tuft of clouds
Who knows
Maybe I could find an angel
Hidden there
Having fallen from the skies
When we view ourselves in a different light,
The chains of doubt lose their binding might.
We're not changing the core of who we are,
But how we see ourselves, from near and far.

It was never a walk in the park to try and fit in the niche,

Patterns altered,

Values allocated differently,

Galaxies were spun,

Poles far apart -

When I turned into you.

Your algorithm modified,

Borders merged, goals changed,

But, the race starts again,

An endless search to find a place.
A relentless journey of adapting and belonging.
