I'm fat.
I'm weird.
I'm annoying.
I'm not pretty.
I'm crazy.
I'm obsessive.
I'm a chatter-box.

I've stolen things.
I lie.
I've lied to my parents.
I've lied to my friends.
I've lied about myself.
I've lied to myself.

I'm pathetic.

I wish that I could be a butterfly,
just pop into a little cocoon and transform.
And come out a brand new creation.

The old me tossed into a recycling bin,
and changed into something better.

Maybe...
                               One Day.

Think about it.
No one really like caterpillars.

They're fat and fuzzy.. like me.

But....
What if I'm already a butterfly?

Maybe I'm still in my caterpillar form,
waiting for the right time to change,
But I'll change!

I won't be a leftover.
And I won't be forgotten.

People will really see me for once,
and I won't be ghosting through crowds.

But until that day...
I have to accept me, for me.
This is how I feel, and it's an edited version of a poem I wrote a few years back.

I said I'm sorry
What more can I do?
What do you want from me?
Give me a clue...

Haunting my dreams,
Tears to my eyes -
- You bring mercilessly,
I'm waiting to smile...

Free me, I'm a butterfly...
A bird with wings...
Anything that can fly...
Put me down and let me walk,
Or throw me up so I can fly

Don't hold me down
I can't give you what you lost
It's gone with the wind of yesterday
Yesterday... yesterday... *yesterday...

A butterfly trapped in the wheel of your deception
Forever turning
Spinning delusion
I listen with padlocked ears
Frantically beating exhausted wings
Against the torrent of your *******

tea
for the unfinished assignments
for the time of the month
for the boy who douses you with salt
for trying to feel loved

wine
for your tired eyes
for your loneliness, a butterfly
beating its wings on your ribs,
for trying to grasp
what freedom is.

my darling,
don't you love to heal?
don't you love to escape?

You say you're ugly
But darling
You are a butterfly
That has seen the day
To be pretty.

like a cygnet
i await the
lilly strewn liquid
of your love
where i can lap my
feet luxuriously
in your
idyll

>¡<

like a patch of soil
i await your root and seed
harrowed by your hands
turned under by your
undulating plows

>¡<

like an old shoe
i wait to cradle your heel
in comfort, and give you
the freedom to
point
a
toe

like these things
i am not
comely
but like a
caterpillar
i await your
cocoon of carelessly
crumpled sheets
to preform my
metamorphosis
into the beautiful
Blue Mountain Swallowtail
you always knew

i could be*

Twirling through the motions
Emotions by my side
Trying to maintain my hope and pride

I thought I'd felt devotion
Sipped Aphrodite's magic potion
But now all I feel is empty inside

A butterfly with broken wings
I had been fluttering on by
And you held me softly
When I thought that I would die

But not long after you turned away
When I thought you were here to stay

Predictions
Convictions

Led me to be a victim
Of my own heartbreak.
