Moon Ariella Dec 2014
You say you need me
but don't you know why my star sign is named after a disease?

I am an illness
that will take residence inside your veins
and flow through your bloodstream
until I pour out of you
in every single way

I will take power over your bones
and make you ache
until you cannot move
in the slightest angle
without seething my name in pain

I don't know anyone who needs that
In the beginning, I was the universe
Formless, without shape or reason
Everything I felt floating around inside me
In no order, like stardust
Stumbling its way through life, arbitrarily

Then, you came...

And suddenly, I found myself
Floating in the most beautiful ellipse
In perfect order, indefectible
With your breathtaking soul at the center

I felt you pulling me into shape
My awkward human form molding to your perfection
Your gravity grasps me by the back of my hair
and pulls me in for a long kiss
And at that moment I felt a 10 millennium old star
Shatter into a supernova at the force of our love
While we stand in front of it's glow,
And smile together

Mourn the Moon in the morning
for he had lost his night shift.
Let it be a warning
for the Sun shall rise at night.
Bright blinding darkness descend
on us, threatening to swallowing us
And every single star there is.

They'll be no wars,
just a simple surrender as
sunshine soldiers surround our souls
telling us our new roles.

What we thought we were,
we are not.
What we thought we weren't,
we are.
And if they say it,
it must be true

We act the polar opposite of ourselves
because of some solar energy,
some hot headed, gassed filled entity
has made us question our identities.

Is it our thoughts,
or actions,
that define us?
Our we confine to one,
or is the two combine?

I'm inclined to say:
I don't know.
I'm only learning how operate
in this world.

So many questions with no answers.
Just an obsession to understands
the oppression against us.

Doing so will hep us understand ourselves, right?

So send in the Sun,
mourn the Moon ,
and figure out the chaos born.
For soon it will be done with us.
Feel free give feedback! Thoughts welcomed!
Sitting in front of a new moon,
the darkness plays throughout the night.
But the moon turns it's back.
The stars and planets display themselves before me,
shouting for attention with vibrant lights.
But the moon turns it's back.
I hear the cries of Gaia all around me,
singing to her only love.
But the moon turns it's back.
And just as I'm about to drift away,
I hear God whisper let there be light.
And I think the moon hears too,
But the moon turns it's back.
Inspired by the lack of moon the other night.

Doesn't it seem so pointless
How the moon sheaths the sun, and says;
Learn to hold your tears back, darling.

And how the sun, so carefully, replies
Love, I shall shatter at your dancing will
For as long as it takes to dust off this cacophony

A beat, and they separate

The sun utters ever so slightly:
Remember me while you get dizzy
Or when you feel my light for you.

**'Tis as it was, ere the wolves came.

Some people spend their whole lives
drawing all the lines between
the starry heavens
transcribing their ethereal tones
learning to sleep and dream
along to the stellar cadence
that you can hear
resonating in all things

If you aren't careful you'll find
you might miss a beat,
lose count
or cross lines until the map your making
is irrecognizable

It takes a certain delicacy
and a lot of dedication
to hold true to that
low hum of the heavens

Peering out across the milky sky
waiting patiently to watch the stars
slowly slide back to their homes amongst the tired mountains
improbable galaxies whirling about,
an ocean infinitely illuminated with a
mesmerizing brilliance
a sea of wonderment

And what a journey
to walk that heavenly wilderness
maybe there you'll discover
how we all feast upon the sweet fruit of the universe
unknowingly, every day that the sun decides to rise

i'm sure by now
you feel it in your bones
with every draw of ocean breath
with every bit of blood that courses through you
as you return to earth
with those heavenly reverberations
the songs we sing for generations

I wish You'd love me.
Your attention I desire.
The person you are I admire.
I cannot lose myself
For You.

You're my piece of art.
I am dying inside,
Containing my joyful feeling
Of Your perfection,
You ask me,
'Why are you looking at me like this?'

Tonight I looked up
and searched for you in the sky
hoping to find you looking down on me
while you slept with sadness dancing behind your eyes.
Tonight I found you way up high
reflecting the sun's light into darkness
I found comfort watching you shine.
Tonight I saw each crater etched into your skin
you didn't try to hide them
you let all of my love in.
Tonight I faced my fears
and I let each one of them go
as your glowing surface uncovered my path
and I found my way home.
