Miles upon miles,
Riddled with beds.
Tissues and soft hands,
To wipe my tears.
Piles upon piles,
Of blankets and food.
A nice, big bowl
Of serotonin.
Third Eye Candy Jun 2014
when we met, it was tipsy tuesday and donnie had swollen fingers
and nate sank into his plaid frock and dropped his shadow
on the patio like a heavy slug, and the flies
cavorted in the vortex of our subtext
as the night skies spat stars
at our foreheads.

you were beautiful;  too beautiful then.

i was smitten, i was tossed on stormy seas, unsick.
i was healed. the world spun filth and dull glamour
but your face hurled fireworks
and my mind leaned into my heart
and i knew i loved you.
whoever you turned out
to be.

i babbled and groped, as the inertia
of falling, filled my sails
and I was purposefully adrift -
in your brown-black eyes;
as a dog fetched a frisbee
for an illiterate.

and i think i bit my lip a bit.

I saw you for the first time.
for the last time
in my life
and was never
the same.

my heart, now more precise.

you had fierce speech
underneath your sweet speak
and long hair.
i had you in my soul's yurt
on a plain of windswept pavilions
with free horses and costly
remoteness.
i was ' there ' less
and more somewhere else
alone with the perfect you
reading my lips
as they tremored
delight of it.

i babbled speechless.

i remember you tossing your locks
at my cage. and i was set free.

and complete me.

I have seen colorful rainbows
And breath-taking sunsets
But I can't get enough of both
I can't get enough of nature

I would like to witness
Fireflies flying through the darkness
With their lights dancing around like in parties
Seeing it would really be great!

I'd love a show
Of falling white snow
Its cold touch on my skin
All I can do is to imagine!

But my biggest dream is
To see an Aurora Borealis
I'll permit even death
After I see this beauty

I grew up in a tropical city, you see
So nature became a mystery to me
They're like fairies asking for a chase
An exotic flavor I'd love to taste

But if the Shinigami comes to me first
Before I can check these off my wishlist
And if I can't bargain anymore
I'll calmly come with him and say, "Sure.."

"I have already enjoyed Aurora Borealis
In my lover's eyes long before
And I had several fireflies in my stomach,
Plus I have fallen for someone like a snow."

So no regrets
I'll check you all out in my next life
I'll leave to the living the rest
To take care of these wonders for the reincarnated
But seriously, I really wish to see these before I die.

the feeling of somebody,
synonymous to no one

they might be feeling
instead.

Intro: Da-da-dum

Verse 1
I’m checkin’ my wishlist
You ticking my boxes
No need to fill up and
Hang up the stockings

'Cause baby this Christmas
There's many I've listed:
Somebody who's sweet,
Tall as a tree,
Someone who's precious

Refrain1-
Of all the things I’ve listed,
You couldn't have guessed it, oooh -ooh-
Of all the things, sugar and spice
It's good to know that he's both naughty and nice

Chorus:
The one thing I needed
I couldn't believe it
How it came true
This Christmas
You were my wishlist
Still can't believe
How nice of Santa to
Give me you,
This Christmas

Verse 2
Double checkin’ my wishlist
You ticked all the boxes
Got a tight *** (mhm)
You're fly as a rocket (yippee)

Cause baby, this Christmas
Of all things I'd needed (from Santa)
He's always merry,
Bright as can be
He warms me up at night

Refrain 2:
Of all the things I’ve listed,
You couldn't have guessed it, ooh ooh
Of all the things, he heats up my winter
It's good to know that Santa got it right this time

Chorus -
The one thing I needed
I couldn't believe it
How it came true
This Christmas
You were my wishlist
Still can't believe
How nice of Santa to
Give me you,
This Christmas

Outro;
Da-da-dum, this Christmas, this Christmas..

one frozen tv dinner later, i was
sitting on a bus in east athens.
going to meet my dealer, going
about my business, just like
we all were, then. that was before
and unfortunately, this is one too
many frozen tv dinners later. one
too many bottles of whatever was
left after i thought i had barely
enjoyed it all.

this is the step below, the struggle of
the common man. this is what our
parents didn't want us to see, this
is who they really were. we
are just inheriting it and will be
passing it along soon.

and we probably won't even care.

last november, it was thanksgiving,
and we were tired and hardly
thankful. you said it feels like home,

i said my food was still
a little frozen in
the middle.

I always keep a wish list
I write what I want
And the price I’ll pay.
Be it a target for a twenty
Or love for an arm and a leg.
I’ll pay fifty for a new game
And my soul for popularity.
Music is a dollar a song.
Friendship is always priceless.
Racing suit costs me eighty
And family costs a few feuds.
The shiny new watch sells for forty
Success sells for just too much.
The only thing that’s ever free
Is the happiness that surrounds me.
All that cost is one’s own decision
To tell sadness, good riddance.

keep scrolling through iTunes,
can’t seem to find anything to download,
even though I can download,
any song that I want to,

keep scrolling through my timeline,
Facebook lines & Instagram posts,
but can’t seem to find anything of interest,
which doesn’t make sense since I love everyone,

got everything we want,
but nothing that we need,
traded in our dreams,
for some fantasies on a screen,
here forget you used to be free,
have a seat & take this TV,
it’s amazing how we make miracles,
seem so easy,

it’s like,
these machines gave us everything we ever wanted,
without,
giving us anything that we ever needed,

& it’s strange because I’ve won every battle,
but still I feel defeated,
it’s like I’m sitting around,
alone with all these toys around me,

feeling like a Prince without a Kingdom,
or a King without a throne,
or a Princess without a wishlist in her Queendom,
with a magnificent house that’s missing a home,

are you missing your home,
that home you never had,
are you missing that feeling,
that feeling that you can’t quite grab,

and that’s,

exactly why you keep scrolling through iTunes,
& that’s exactly why I keep scrolling thought iTunes,
we’re both missing the same thing & searching in vain,
it’s eerily ironic how we can feel so alone in the same room,

& I feel your pain because I feel my pain two,

pardon me,
maybe I’m confused,
maybe we,
wanted to get attention instead of getting used,

& there’s so much more I want to mention,
but then again I guess what’s the use,
why start something that’s only definite is an ending,
but I’m your friend so if you want to begin it’s up to you,

I’m willing to relax,
I’ll answer all your questions,
let’s trade facts,
truth or dare until we express all our intentions,

in the pursuit of passions,
listening to intuitions,
remembering what it was to be human,
before we gave in & gave them our emotions,

I swear something doesn’t feel right,
like most of these humans are just Programs,
who look like they are moving with intention,
but are really just going through the motions,

keep scrolling through iTunes,
can’t seem to find anything to download,
even though I can download,
any song that I want to…

Capture me the sun
and I’ll worship you by day

Lasso me the moon
and I’ll turn the tide

Irrigate me an ocean
and I’ll drink to a stupor

Promise me time
and the seconds I’ll bide

I wish you liked me like I like you
Forever I will stand by your side
But will you do the same for me?
Always I will call your name
But do you even know mine?

I wish you knew me like I know you
Every record will remind me
of the way you swayed with the music
You never knew my favorite songs
You never even asked

I wish you hated me like I hate myself
When I didn't want to look at anyone
You always glanced at me
Maybe you loved me
Maybe I didn't want you to

I wish you saw me like I see myself
All I see is someone so evil
Yet you looked at me
as if I were an angel
Maybe I didn't want you to

I wish you stayed here with me
I don't hate you
for taking your life
But maybe you should come back
and look at me again
