I think the last time I got a decent amount of sleep
Was when I was in my moms belly
So don't complain
If I'm a little tired
Cause I didn't ask
For life to turn out like this

Free Bird
I'd like to tell you a story
It begins in 1492
When dear old Christopher Columbus
Sailed the ocean blue

He landed on what he thought
To be the country of India
He stumbled upon a group of people
Who appeared to be indigenous

Because these native people
Happened to be where he thought he was
He called them all "Indians"
&& somehow that name stuck

They welcomed his group with open arms
Even offered them their feast
Unaware that deep inside
They were but wolves, dressed as sheep

Columbus && his crew
Soon ravaged the land
They took what they saw
Then they took full command

Of the people they found
On the land where they landed
They felt they should rule
So they stepped in, heavy handed

They murdered the people
Who had taken them in
Set fire to their villages
While the victims watched with their kin

Flash forward to the future
It's now 2016
It's been over 500 years
Since the overtaking by the regime

Future settlers decided
To let the survivors live on
They designated them small areas
Of what had not yet been robbed

These Native Americans,
Generally keep to themselves
They get by living off their land
But now they need your help

The Sioux of Standing Rock
Are being horribly mistreated
The state of North Dakota
Is poisoning them without reason

A pipeline has been built
That runs through this Native territory
When Bismarck residents didn't want it
It was rerouted, how discriminatory

People from all over the country
Are seeming to agree
They are making the commute
To protest peacefully

In defense of an oppressed people
Who only want to live
But the government is stepping in
Even blowing off some limbs

"Let them die, they're not like us"
the message the administration is sending
It seems that after all this time
The battle is never-ending

What exactly does it take
For people to see eye-to-eye?
In the end we're all just human
We kiss, we laugh, we cry

So if you have a heart at all
If you know that this is wrong
Please join the Sioux in their mission
By coming together, we can be strong
You don't have to be out there protesting to help. You can still make a difference by making a monetary donation to help build with Standing Rock. You can read more about it on the go fund me page listed here. Every bit helps.

Rock with double shadows
******* is hard to swallow
Sea of Pebbles in the sands of time
Roses hunt something that shines
Powders of snow shine in the dark
But it did not shine by just anyone
Alone, hidden in a sea of pebbles
------------Will you find it?-----------
Or it's just another thing lost
In the sands of time

this was one of my older piece when i was starting to used imagery in my poetry. It was the First part of my Concrete poetry series, it was supposed to be a pebble shape, now im not sure(smiles). As i re-read it now and post it here, i realized something that i never thought of when i wrote it. I was writing it on a fantasy genre on mind, but now i know deep inside, even before, i am looking for someone who i can connect with, to share something with, to be with someone you can relax and trust upon... i become the rock who is lost in the sands of time, because the roses have gone away, or never got to find my shine.

The teardrops of stars
A woman with a body
And a name
Celeste
How I look up in the night
And see her eyes
I see her skin as the sky
A cosmic answer
A soft place to land
From my recent fall
The tears that formed
Flow like glaciers
Ruining her make-up
Mascara on her cheeks
And her heart
Branded
How I reach out through these voids
These pits of despair
These ****** of pain
And touch love
These crystalline tears
Shine on my hair
And drown my hands
In her forever
I never saw the sun
But I swear
By god
I have felt it
Fall on me
As love from the ether
As teardrops
From stars

perhaps he tasted like heaven,
but i was going to be hell
to his skin nonetheless.
My fingers itch, pacing, they dream of controlling the pen.
My tongue flicks impatiently, waiting for the words to roll off.
My heart beats to give my soul music to dance too.

...But somehow, I can't write you...

Your eyes, mirrors that reflect my every flaw in perfect light.
Your hands, a glue to hold me together when my shattered shards shiver
Your arms, a majestic Oak, to hold me close and cover me with a childhood hope and wonderment.

...But somehow, I can't write you...

Your heart, an unattainable magic not to be held by porous people like me.
Your legs, tall towers which block the sun from ever kissing my skin
Your stomach, a graveyard of hope from all the lovers that went before me

...But somehow, I can't write you...
you're impossible.
I want to fall in love with you!
Not because I love you,
I love the idea of you,

I want to fall in love with you.
Loving you distracts me from not loving myself.
I want to fall in love with you, to send this writers block to hell...

The symbols that I see,
They have no flow, no soul, no meaning,
Those lines don't lead to beauty,
Nor swirl to colour dance.

Where is the flavour?
The scent of their description is empty,
Shallow,
Senses sense no more.

No charm, no hints,
Not even flirting with art,
Just simple, dead symbols with no heart.

One thing
on my mind
Our midnight
kiss
Perfect bliss.
