I tend to get distracted by nature
too often.
I stare at sunsets while driving,
       almost swerving into the other lane
    wanting to follow it.
I ignore my teacher's lectures just to
  peer outside the window;
the leaves seem greener when it rains.
Even as I'm writing this I keep glancing
behind my back towards the window,
  after every line

My favorite thing to do
   is to lay on the grass,
eyes towards the sky,
           watching the clouds roll by
   imagining I'm lying on top
                 of one
           instead.

We are nothing
We're not lovers
We're under covers
We are nothing

We are nothing
Nothing but an illusion
It's all in my head
What I'm feeling for you

We are nothing
We are just a drunken rampage
Just a moment of touching
Just the emptiness we create

We are nothing
We are nothing after tonight
So why am I hoping?
That you'll see me in a new light.

a freight train of
words
run my mind,
they pass through
plains and
pick up passengers
who stay for awhile,
then leave
when they
no longer need
a ride.
i wrote this almost a year ago in my journal completely forgot about it.
hello poetry, can you put me in the mood
give me your sacred anthologies
your oceans and rivers too

human insight seems to fail in everyone I knew
like painted sandcastles on a gravel beat
a song lyric draped in Princeton blue

don't hoard the cadavers from both of us
this is one right you cannot undo
licorice rope to tie the knot, in the coma you've slipped into

cry your eyes out, mi bien.
cry your eyes out.

for when the night comes,
you will be empty.
your eyes empty.

let the tears flow now,
everything will feel better.

let them rush,
let them drip like rain,
let them out.
unstoppable, like a waterfall.

cry, my dear.
i'll always be here for you.
cry to sleep knowing that someone cares for you.
i'll be here for you.
cry about everything you wish.

crying is emotion,
and being emotionless is for babies.
Let the moon bless this spell, let it drench these woods with its cold light. My glimmering stars, grains of sand washed upon the blessed shores of this universe. Sing for me your infinite song of time and hold off your bright and cruel mother until all requested deeds have been done.

Just what lies o’er yonder lustful future? Tender embraces from my purest loved one? A thousand strokes from a wandering counterpart? A declaration of emotion from my forbidden equal? If all goes as agreed, my heart’s greatest desires will be set in stone. And written in blood under the roof of this ancient bothy. Beneath the aureole of a billion stars.
Passionate, bright flames,
they last for but a moment,
to become nothing.
