Do not stand at my grave and weep..
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry..
I am not there. I did not die.

My name is Sophia
They say they'll help you
But they always leave
They promise to fix you
They'll give you all you'll ever need
So you put all your eggs in their basket
But they leave you alone to waste in your casket
Basically, this is just about people coming into your life and promising to make it better but then leaving and making it worse. Something I've been experiencing a lot lately.

Friendship is wings
Unstrung and uncaged to fly
Even when it's dark

I Give You My Word
-
Listen closely to what someone says
Then wait for what they do
For its only then that you will know
If the words they say are true

Give to them a chance to shine
And let them find their way
But hold them to their promises
Make them keep the words they say

Know that trust is not just given
That sometimes it must be earned
For a promise once it's broken
Make a person just feel burned

You can sit back and be quiet
Not let your voice be heard
But if you do then dont complain
When you get what you deserve

Listen closely to what someone says
Then wait for what they do
For it's only then that you will know
If the words they say are true

On your poems I linger.

Long after they’re gone

Leave their mark
On my work

Residues of their thread
Buzz in my head

Deep they sink
To color my ink

Your thought
In me wrought

The way you bleed
The way you seed
The way you need

They get into me
Beget more poetry

Your pursuit of joy
Of pain
Of sorrow

I borrow

Fated to be forever indebted

I steal your tune
Like a roadside singer.

On your poems I linger.

the crystal clarity of each drop
Is my very own
Glass Menagerie.

You are beautiful
In Every Way...
what matters not,
boy or girl,
when entitled to
Beautiful Poet:
that covet,
covers and covets the world

If I was a bird flying over the sea, would you stop for a moment and gaze up at me?
The wind under feather with curious weather...
away from the the worries that bind like a tether.

The waves singing songs as I soar far ahead with notes filled with passion like mothers singing to bed,
their children who sleep,
children too young to know,
the vast choppy waters
and the storms vicious blow.

If I was a bird flying over the sea, would you long for purpose?
Would you long to be free?
Would you long to stretch outward like the branch of a tree?

Though now I am chained to a wall made by pride and the ignorant static that is nestled inside,
one day I will open my troublesome eyes and arrive to a peace found in being truly alive.

Until then I fall, until then I fail, but with every bruise comes a truth in the gale.
So have faith in me and I send you this plea.
That one day you'll see me with wings,
flying over the sea.
I am not feeling the best at the moment.
But above all else, hope keeps us alive.

Can
       you
              please
                        turn
                             out
                        the
                 lights
         when
    you
go?

Hey pretty girl,
Who asked you
To take on the world?
They don't know what you've been through
That you had a child
When you were one yourself
You grew up so seamlessly
Even when you got little help.
You work two jobs
Care for the homeless
In the most extreme way.
I have learned more from you
Than I can ever repay.
Still, you never consider yourself
Unlucky or unfortunate.
Just because we are different
Does not mean a thing
People seem to think
That you're beer and I'm champagne
That isn't how it works at all.
My parents say
You've made questionable choices
Like they haven't?
I don't understand
Why money is so important
Just because we come from
Separate sectors of the financial latter
Does not mean
We lack a friendship that matters

I hope you would appreciate
that I still keep you around
by wrapping myself in the blankets
you and your mom made me,
your sweater that I think I stole
is still my favorite sweater
I wear it when I want
to feel loved again
for just a little
I'm not saying
I still love you
like I used to
or that I want
you again
I'm just saying
you have a spot
in my heart
as a
meaningful
friend
