AM
do you still remember
how you made me fall in love
before I can even blink my eyes?

Erika Castaldo
I think that love is real,
But it isn't for everybody.
Everyone I’ve loved has left
Or grown to hate me.

He made me believe in him,
Believe that he wasn't like my
Father or my Mother.
He made me believe that I would be loved.

I was so stupid
To think that he wouldn't find
Her more interesting, more beautiful
With her too-bleached hair and
Full lips she draws on each day.

She sings and dances and acts
While I read and write.
She goes to his football games
While I stay home and study.
She goes on vacations with him
While I go to college fairs.

I know I can't compare,
But I thought he cared.

I do not speak in sombre tones
Not for me the gentle echo
Hushing through hallowed halls
I shall growl my way to the grave
Be ****** to the insignificant
And to hell with the indifferent
There are no rules or rulers
There are only fools and foolers

I need no-one else's straight lines
I have imagination enough to swerve
And spite enough to spin
Snapping snarling and seditious
Spitting venomous and vicious
Flamed by the world's injustice
And humanity's indifference
Not until I am dead burned and scattered
Shall I rest assured

The lies
like dirt under
fingernails.
Call on your inner
Lady Macbeth
but no amount of scrubbing
can cleanse them.
They lie thick
on the tongue
tainting tastes
with blistered buds.
A thousand ants
marching on your
skin.
Unscratchable itch.
Descending into
madness.
Only truth can
set you free.
Only you can
free the truth.

The flowers of the dawn
Unfurled its petals
In pinks and reds
A solitary Venus stands
unblinking in the black sky
And with the dawn vanished and was gone.

Packing the pack
in the name of that
which held no more pain
It was time to hit the road again

Doubts linger with the rising sun
But the choices
They are few

The oceans
The mountains
The deserts
They hold the views

Chasing the dawn
Chasing the beginnings
It is time to begin again.

The pack holds the few essentials
For the journey's road

Long and arduous
Peaceful and calm
All moments are held
And pass on by

Time to go is all that is known

Laughter and glee
Loves and loses

Time a ribbon
Unfurls in the sky
Dragging all along
Down
To that endless highway.

Just a visitor
renting space
along the way

A pause to watch
This very dawn
Then heading on down the way
again

The road
It begins in the dark
It ends there too.

Victory

Here we are Mom,
This is the finish line-
Where my mind goes blank,
Where your dead body lays on the floor,
Between my hands your face is fading.
Finally I've stopped you with my own hands-
Those endless screams and tears.

Here we are Mom,
Where you've ran out of things to blame me about,
Threatening me, beating me up-
Until there is nothing left of me-
Not even pride,
Or even feelings -
I can't feel no more,
You've taken away my humanity,
my sanity.

Here we are again Mom,
This is the finish line I can see the end,
Where your will drown into your own loneliness,
No one to cry at your funerals,
Or lay flowers on your grave-
Because I am done with this pain,
This interminable miserable cycle -
This is your victory Mom,
I'm leaving'

Just when your world collapses

To the point of fall apart

There still resides a tiny spark

Deep within your hungry heart

The tiniest of slivers

A slight glimmer of hope

A righteous nod from the voice of God

Letting you know you're not alone

If I seem distant it's
because I am.
I abandon this city
like rain down gutters
trying to get back
to a home, a field, a shore,
no traffic, no smoke
where air is pure
& lungs breathe deep,
in a rhythm
untarnished by
tarmac & brick;
modernity's grip
that looks for life
& buries it, forgets
Earth has a pulse
a heart that beats
beneath us.

This brilliant morning
anything is possible

we are limited only
by rigid minds
whose fragile confines

can be vaporized
by choice alone.

With thee I shan't
Never leaveth;
O' Jane I shan't
Leave.

With thee I agreeith
In matrimonial
Ceremony;

iii.

I leaveth a key
Outside thine abode;
The key shalt fit inside
Mine aura, thou hast
Unlocked mine soul.

iii.

Entereth in, I'll keepeth
Thou cozy, as thou shalt
Touch mine lip's, and peck
Mine cheek's Rosy.

A dawn anew,
Spiritual growing;
Pound's art few, ourn
Spirit's art light as feather's,
In the surreal, utopian together.

Foreordained, stains made
White as wool, ivory garb's,
Sweet savour; a distinct flavor,
Wild Asian, unearthly station,
I'm a European patient, as thou
Art an angel, of ourn Lord and Savior.

The sky open wide
Chocolate pupil's,
Baby blue eyes;
Together a ride of
Chariot mind's, blendid
In fashion's of eternal
Afterlife;
