Is it true?
Does my name
Drift in the wind?
Over the mountains
And across the sea?
Does it fade
From your mind?
Like a visitor who
Has overstayed
Their time?
Do the memories
Recede to the back
Of your mind?
Like the sun leaving
the day behind?

Are you thinkin of me?
Staring at your last text
Hoping you text me

What's stopping us?
Who holds our destiny?
I will give you the best

I remember the innocence of my childhood
happiness.

It was before bracelets were used
for more than just fashion…
before they were used to hide jagged cuts

The days when I only cried for my
scraped skin.

Now I cry for heartbreak and the loss
of more than just happiness.

The days where pills were only taken
to make “the hurt go away”.

Now they’re taken to make me go away.

The days where Root Beer was the only
“alcohol” I drank.

Now I drink shots of hopelessness
in small glasses of heartbreak

The days where the only kisses I asked for
were before I drifted off to sleep.

Now I beg for kisses in midnight hours
where the only love I receive is the kind
where the sheets are terrorized.

The days where candied cigarettes were my
way of being an adult.

Now cigarettes are the way of keeping
me sane.

“Look, mommy, look. I’ve grew
an inch!”

Now I’m growing without you.

Gone are the days where I felt your kisses
planted upon wet cheeks,
The days where I beg for your love, mommy.

I beg for love in the form of moaning,
bed springs creaking;
where sweat caked into my pores.

The days where my life meant something to
someone.

If I died now, who would cry for me?

The days where happiness grew on trees,
and you showed me how to grasp them with
dirt-covered palms.

Look, mommy. I’ve grew an inch.

An inch closer to the bullet
awaiting in it’s home.

I can play
the razor,
you can play
the skin.

One cut.
That is all I need.
I will make you love me
and that will make you bleed.

Blood pumps through a heart,
beat by thumping beat.
That makes them best
to conquer and
also best
to eat.

I never wanted to be writer,
but you no longer craved
my deepest affections,
so I melted them down
into black ink and pressed
them against an inviting
skin of paper.

I loved you when I first met you
you loved me
Days went by
our love grew strong you see
Things fell apart
We went our separate ways
But sadly I still loved you
like I had that day

Somewhere down a street,
I walk under the cloudy rain.
A dim light showing the way,
Leading me away from pain.

A wrecked bench with dew drops,
Empty as always on the other side.
Every watch & every clock stops,
The devious time is now my guide.

Icy cold palms and drenched hair,
Staring faces filled with despair.
A torn paper and a broken pen,
Trying to use words made by men.

Fingers bleeding black with grief,
Blacker than the clouds above pouring.
Forsaken faith & forgotten belief,
Dreams and hopes in the air soaring.

Accepting the truth that I now abide,
Upon myself I take all the blame.
Waiting for you on the other side,
All I could write was your name.

Every morning,
I awake with
your name
on my lips.
