In this life, feet catch fire
and
people burn

Remember your dream
when
it is your turn

You will see your ashes
but
you will manage to breathe

If
you sustain the flames
inside
your dreams

Your ashes will float
and
shimmer like gold

You will rise as a
Phoenix
with wings to behold
When a cycle ends, a new one begins. Stay true to your dreams, persist.

Live in poetry
Hold unto novelty
Never settle
Never just be
**** being content
Sadness, emptiness, happiness, despair, love, hatred, wonder
They are all colours
Why paint in black and white when you've got the whole
spectrum?
Feel.
Some call it bi-polar
I prefer manic-depression
It fits us better with adequate expression
We live our life in swooping loops
We strive at our peak then it droops
And the doleful drudge is destitute
Until all progress stops and stoops
To a halt, face down in mud and roots

And then we rise
Called back to life by a guiding light held deep inside
Sorely self-aware, we work until we burst
Droll desperation, at our best when at our worst
"Wow you got your **** together you lost and soulless ruffian."
Then we hit our peak and it all starts back up again

My heart
has cracked open
like the most
fragile of
elusive
eggs
viscous fluid
drips d
            own
upon the plate
filled with
fissures,
spidercracks that
threat to
quake into
seismic
         measures
and eventually
piece off into
oblivion
and only when
I can finally
unfold myself
from these
underwater
embryonic bends
fetal stretches
and folds
that never end
only then my arms
reach out
into the night
searching
and,
in tiniest of beams,
in one fell stroke
of midnight kismet
I find you
around me
in colored chromium
wrapping me up
headstrong,
filling my
wounded sutures
with
     liquid
gold

She seeks God in the river where she drowned him
The same one she once tried to cleanse her soul in

Her heart listens to hymns sung by her petrified flesh
While her lovers' lips set the pace of her forgotten faith

She is lost

it's cold and nobody
cares.

the ice has grown through my skin
into my stomach,
its sharp knives chopping
and slicing what love i had left.

i'm cold and nobody
cares.

if my skin turns to stone
under the weight of all my sins,
so be it.
it is better than melting into the palms
of someone i don't need.

it's cold and nobody
cares.

i wear a heavy coat to heat up
my insecurities,
a hat to hide beneath
the stitching of the fabric.

i'm cold and nobody
cares.

i read your poems and wonder
who exactly you're talking about
when you say
"i love you."
could it be me?
yeah,
right.

it's cold and nobody
cares.

except for
me.
