We're only made to take so much;
the sand runs out, the hour's up.
For some, one life is not enough
to take advice yet give back love.

Some live to take; their hands are rough,
their blood is blue, their minds are tough.
Though they are humans just like us,
the seat fits two, still they won't budge.

We don't mind though, 'cause we can stand
but they still shoot us off fair land
and laugh and lie and watch us run,
then claim that they're the injured ones.

Drunk on love we couldn't see
that kindness only fuelled their greed.
For lies sleep sound under their tongues
and rot 'til teeth become golden.

Their shadows cast two different shades.
They twist and turn in makeshift shapes.
Feast at my table. Eat my brain.
For after all, we give, you take.
.
Do you give or do you take?

In two days
I'll follow the wind
Whichever way it blows
However it will send

I've been running in circles
Yet, idle in this spot
Caught in routine
Prisoner of thoughts

In two days
I'm a stranger somewhere new
Open to change
Alternative views

I'd prefer your company,
But I know you're needed here
It's time my freedom finds the highway
And my troubles steer clear

In two days
I'll follow the wind
Whichever way it blows
However it will send

I was wrong, I see.
My water mixes poorly
With the flame of you.

I held a caramelized dream in my hands
Dripping down my arms and soaking my sleeves in sticky juice
Rich golden syrup that drip drip dripped onto my toes
Too sweet to eat
These dreams are bad for you
I held on to it like school books and riches
I held it out before me
As it caught the sterling sun
Glistening hopes
So beautiful
So messy
Ever melting
Ever dripping
Leaking through my fingers
Falling from my palms
Fading from my sight

How can you say that the world is plain,
When waterfalls fall with the fall of the rain,
And puddles are gleaming like brand-new veneer?
Don't you know there is magic here?

I look at the flowers and expect to see Fae,
Yawning and stretching at dawn of the day,
Or harvesting dewdrops which fall in the night,
Flitting and flying from left to the right.

Have you walked through the forest and breathed in the air?
Have you laughed as the chipmunks ran fast from the hare?
Have you noticed how leaves turn the golden light green?
Have you seen all there is in the woods to be seen?

Oh Friend, have you stretched out your hands to the sun?
Have you seen the sky change since the day has begun?
Will you lift up your eyes and be wrapped in the dark,
And watch as the moon and the stars make their mark?

Do you really not know there is magic here,
While the puddles are gleaming like brand-new veneer,
And the waterfalls fall with the fall of the rain?
How can you say that the world is plain?
Calling someone a "sheeple"
Only proves you're a hypocrite
Concrete Poet took offense to one of my comments, and said "*******, you ******* sheeple". And then, of course, apparently blocked me, so I couldn't respond.
